G-Pur Thanks for the info.

Neil F. I have a 01 top on my 03. I have seen post from Jerry and a few others that some older clamps were too wide for the plastic 03+ trim. (the slots were the same size) I asked specifically what year was different but know one seemed to know. This was in a thread where someone was putting a 99 hard top on an 03+ and the clamps were the same size. There are tons of people that have swapped all years of tops and I have seen none that have actually said the clamps were at issue.

G-Pur the header clamps down differently as well after '03, but if you swap it out for your own header that shouldn't be an issue.

InfernoGirl All of them are the same, except for the above mentioned zipper changes in '03...

cdnabn49 cool, thanks thanks for the info... the top I have came off a Rocky Mountain Edition...

InfernoGirl 1. Rubicon tops are the same as all other TJ tops.

2. It should fit if you have the hardware for the 02 top, it may be a bit more snug due to the roll bar pads being bulkier on the 04, and the mounting brackets maybe different for the same reason. Verify this info, as I'm not 100% sure.....

cdnabn49 ok, to flog a dead horse did the Rubicon TJ's (04 MDL) come with a different soft top or just the same as the TJ's...

2nd question - If I have a complete soft top w/windows from a 02 TJ it will work as a replacement for the 04 Rubicon

Neil F. And because the zipper changes, you must order 97-02. This is for the side windows. The rear windows have the same zipper.

Note with your 02, you need to determine the material and color. Some 01-02 tops were delivered with sailcoth as opposed to denim.

ok, thanks
that's good to know.

so, I am assuming that is why when I see a complete replacement top, it show 1997-2006 - because it wouldn't matter at that point..

thanks again

year 2 year soft top differences

I've been thinking about replacing my windows on my 2002 soft top...
I'd like to get tinted.

I've noticed in a few places that it states windows fit:

can someone tell me the difference in the windows?
