|yjkid95||I may put my sound bar back in with pioneer 5.25 a series and make something to mount the tweeters on there too. Tie it into channel 1 and 2 because i still have plenty of juice to use from there. Let me know how you like them.|

|YJman||Everyone has different ears guys I'm sure they're both comparable. It's just a matter of choosing which one you like a bit better. I bought the Pioneers to save money. Got a good deal on them for only 80 bucks.|

|yjkid95||Mine has a crunchgroundpounder 1000 maxx watt amp. I think it can put out 90 rms watt to each channel. The kappa had a 1000 maxx watt sony and i dont know the rms of that one.|

|Jma20a||was there an amp powering any of them? the kappa coaxial speakers are close to the pioneer coaxials but the kappa components win over the pioneers.|

The coaxials. Pioneer USA - TS-A6993R - 6" x 9" 5-Way Speaker with 460 Watts Max. Power
Those are the speakers i have.

|Jma20a||the kappa's or the kappa components? cause im talking about the kappa components not the coaxials. i have heard the pioneers and they sound fairly good, but the kappa components blow the pioneers out of the water.|

|yjkid95||I heard my pioneers next to kappas and i have to say I think my pioneers beat the kappas. Not by much but they did.|
|11-05-2010 07:17 PM|
they are almost the same price and the infinity will blow those pioneers out of the water.
the kappa components on ebay are about $160 shipped
the pioneers are more money, they are nice speakers but i suggest the infinitys

|YJman||Okay thanks. To keep the price down, I think I'm going to stick with the Pioneers. I have a lot of other stuff to buy too and I was just looking for a pretty good sounding speaker. I hope the pioneers sound better than my friends SONY Xplode speakers :l|

what you do is run the speaker wires to the crossover and the crossover has 2 outputs one for the speaker(woofer)and one for the tweeter. you would need to cut 2 holes fro each tweeter, one hole for the wire to pass through and one for mounting the tweeter.
this is the link

|YJman||How do you go about installing the tweeters though? Where do I mount them? Do I have to run wires through the roll bar or something?|

|yjkid95||I had the stock sound bar but ripped it out wanted bigger speakers and those speakers and the indash ones were stock and were nasty. Looked like cardboard that was rained on 1000 times.|

I am buying these speakers.
yjkid, thanks for the help I'll have to remember that. I might buy just the sound bar speakers for now and see how it sounds. If I don't like it, then I'll be upgrading the dash speakers. Believe it or not, but my stock dash speakers are actually clearer than my sound bar speakers lol.

|yjkid95||I replaced my speakers in my yj 3 times actually. The third and current pair is 4x6 JVC and I am more then pleased with them. They really sound good hooked up to my amp. Basically theres 2 ways to get them out. The first way is to fold down the windshield and get them out that way. If you choose that way then get a new cowl gasket because yours is probably going to leak after you fold down the windshield. The second way is have lots of patience wiggle your hand in the with a socket (youll feel like a contortionist) take the bolts off slide the speaker on down and reverse for the new one (this is the way i did it all 3 times). It takes patience this way but it is very doable. I wouldn't ditch them myself. I would think it would sound better with the indash speakers and soundbar. Im actually considering of adding a sound bar in along with the 6x9's in the back and 4x6 in dash speakers. But good luck.|

seeing as the soundbar is over your head its gonna be much easier to here with the top down and doors off and what not.
what speakers were you looking to put in your soundbar?
if your gonna ditch the fronts and keep the soundbar i suggest going with a set of component speakers
|11-04-2010 05:52 PM|
|YJman||I have a soundbar and I'm replacing those speakers as well. Should I even bother replacing the front speakers? Or should I just disconnect them so they don't interfere with the sound of the higher quality sound bar speakers?|
|11-04-2010 05:15 PM|
|Jma20a||if you want larger speakers you can get speaker pods or a soundbar|

YJ dash speaker replacement
I know there's other threads on this but is there a step by step guide to replacing the front speakers? I am going to try to do it without removing the whole dash, but when I looked up under the speaker tonight, I saw a bracket and multiple other things blocking my view of the speaker and it looks like there's no room to get the old one out and put the new one in.
I was looking to replace the front speakers with 4 inch pioneers but I won't have the room to drill new holes or anything. Can anyone suggest a good 4x6?
