wrangler55 Hey i just purchased a 2008 jeep wrangler unlimited and i was looking for a reasonable lift and tires to put on it. Im considering putting a teraflex 2.25" bb lift and bfg 295/75R16 all terrain tires. Any advise?

Its not that simple.. you have to cut the pucks evenly on each side, the pucks split the middle which i think its there for extra support. you also gotta drill and or cut the radiator, transfercase, steering brackets and shorten the hoses on the gas tank since its made for 3" pipes.

I'm also interested in that bumper flip thingy , i looked at mine today and couldnt see it work.

TxFireman1972 I'm curious about more info on the bumper flip

Triple88a so i just finished installing my 2" BL.. i'll drive it for a little and make sure there are no problems.. i can give you the stock bolts... id recomend just moving down to a smaller bl since many things have to be modified to do a bl such as the fuel hoses and stuff so it will be hard to switch to a no bl at all since you have to buy stuff to make it work..

mrbigjeep i don't get how the rear bumper flip works...it seems like the bracket that attaches the rear bumper to the frame would hit the body mounts...and it would also mean that it wouldn't be attached to the frame any more unless you welded on some new brackets.

nicolas-eric does your TJ have the stock rear bumper?
you can turn it around 180 degrees. then it will come up a bit more than 2". that covers the gap at the rear.
on my TJ you don´t notice that i have a 2" BL. only if you look under the jeep you´ll see the BL pucks.

TxFireman1972 Anyone have pics of what the 1" body lift looks like as far as the gaps? That what I was thinking was the 2" BB and a 1"BL/mml. Just want to see how bad the gaps are. Thanks
06-03-2007 12:37 AM
dwdrums801 2 inch bb 1 inch bl/mml?
06-02-2007 11:54 PM
jjseel Ugh. Understand. How about a lesser body lift and the BB. Not as bad. 3 inch suspensions start to cost...
06-02-2007 11:05 PM
TxFireman1972 its a 3" body lift
06-02-2007 10:59 PM
Triple88a how tall is the body lift? measure the height of the plastic puck that sits on top of the rear bumper under the body.. I'm in the process of installing BL so the stuff is fresh in my head
06-02-2007 09:11 PM
TxFireman1972 no suspension lift. Just body lift. Really just the wifes daily driver so no wild off road trips.
06-02-2007 09:08 PM
jjseel Is there any suspension lift at all? (BTW WELCOME to WF) If no suspension lift, a budget boost isn't expensive, and will keep the height. Of course, it all depends on what YOU want to do with it...

Body lift removal options?

Just bought our first Jeep yesterday. Its a 2000 model Wrangler Sahara. The only thing I dont like is it has a body lift on it. I CANT STAND body lifts.

I want to know what options I have to pull off the body lift and keep the same height. It already has 285/75/15's on it so I have to clear those.
