andreafahy01 Ya know, neither of us have been to Charleston! We do like Savannah, we've been a couple of times, it's nice to go back to.

kg4kpg Come down through Charleston, SC and see the Yorktown, Ft Sumpter, the Market. Then cruise down to Savannah to see the sights. If you want to go farther hit Jacksonville and on down to the Space Coast and the Kenedy Space Center.

Anyone been to Cuyahoga Valley National Park in December?

andreafahy01 Couchsurfing is an international organization for travelers; for a couple of years we have hosted travels from around the world; we give them a room to sleep in, a place to bath and do laundry and usually they'll join us for meals. It's free lodging We have never used it as travelers though. CouchSurfing - Greg Fahy It goes hand in hand with group gatherings of Jeepers, etc. You go somewhere new and get together with locals instead of doing the boring hotel thing. You really learn the culture and experience it in a more enjoyable way. We've lived in New Bern most of our lives, so we often take our "couchsurfers" around town, the historical district, hiking, kayaking, etc.

This would be a good time of year to drive south towards FL; we've just made that drive a bunch of times and there are so many directions we have not gone yet! Key West is one of our favorite places though....

JackdUp I have to ask..... what is couchsurfing?

And, why not take a trip to sunny Florida? Maybe drive down along the eastern coastline and select a few over nighters along the way. Once you pick the route, hopefully a few members will chime in and be willing to meet up with you and show you the area.

I know we do this in the Corvette community, and I have met numerous folks along the way from the forum I am on. Having a set destination with the possibilities of meeting other Jeepers from this forum would be cool! Don't forget to take some photos.

Have fun

Road Trip Ideas?

I love to go on road trips with my husband, he's usually the idea-man. We're looking at taking the first week of December off from everything because we need a break! While we could spend some cash on the trip, I don't really feel like it and we always have a blast on trips where we essentially are only spending cash on gas and some food. I was thinking a drive to DC or Chicago, exploring along the way. Load the jeep with camping supplies, do some couchsurfing along the way if we get cold or dirty, haha. But then December might be a silly time to head north? I'm just not an idea person, I love to do what other people come up with! I'm at a loss on the Google screen..

Anyway, we're in eastern NC. I'm not certain if Greg wants to leave or chill at home but I imagine even half a week of road trip / exploring would do us some good. We went to Charleston, WV earlier in the year; we go to western NC all of the time; I flew out to CA for a couple of weeks; we go to NY plenty as it is... mostly we like to drive, explore, hike, etc. I dunno, we're Jeepers, so I'm sure you get the point!

I'd love to have suggestions from you guys!
