|1991 Wrangler YJ Renegade||ya, I agree... there are sooooo many vehicle compliance laws that there's no way a regular street cop would even know them all... plus, I'm sure short bumpers are the least they're looking for anyway|

|sbaird||Like you said i dont think most cops would stop you for not having full length bumpers... it doesnt seem like something they would even really pay enough attention to notice.|

So I was reading my new issue of 4 Wheel & Off Road and they have been doing a series on lift laws and this month they included Ohio. Seems that is illegal to have stubby bumpers. According to the ORC your bumpers must extend out as far as the outer edge of your tires - at least that's how it sounds. That means since I cut my stock front bumper off right next to the fog lights to clear rocks, and I just bought and installed a Rokmen rear bumper - I am illegal front and rear. Great.
Fortunately I don't think most cops would stop me for it, but it would give them the excuse if they felt the need for some reason. I wonder what the fine is. I hate full length bumpers.
