New Member From North Carolina.
Folks call me "C.J." ( Nothing to do with the Jeep! ) I'm from Western North Carolina, up in the mountains.
I'm 47 years old, retired law enforcement, and a USAF veteran. I've also been a survivalist since my early 20's. I did quite a bit of hog hunting while down in South Florida and have extensive experience in the wetlands and swamps. So if you have any questions about mud, chances are I've worn a lot of it, or eaten it! LOL!!
Right now, I've been training for the past 13 years in the mountains. I particularly like the winter, especially snow. Each year, I try to go back solo into the mountains on a "cold camp", in which I bring minimal gear and stay out several days. It's a real challenge, and it gets moreso the older I get.
When I was younger, I used to do a lot riding in the mud and water in both 4-wheel drives, and on motorcycles. Since mud is in short supply here in WNC, I mostly use my '06 Rubicon as my vehicle to haul my gear back into the mountains. My vehicle is relatively stock, but it serves my purposes just fine.
It's good to "meet" all of you folks. Maybe if you're up this way, we can meet in person someday. Can't never have too many friends.
