adkjoe ^ hahaha that's a great story!! The lucid is darn expensive it's on sale this week for 46 which is still outrageous! That's what happens when you take straight shots, can't say we didn't warn ya!! "one of the lenses had fallen out of my glasses" I have this great mental picture of you cleaning the hot tub with a pair of red rimmed bifocals drunk with one lens missing....

Its amazing how such an innocent thread about a fun loving past time can go so wrong. Now lets get back on topic.

...so I went to the liquor store yesterday after reading the first part of this thread to pick up a bottle of Lucid Absinthe. I have a bad habit when i'm in the ABC store of just picking up what I want and paying with the credit card without checking the price. When I get home I see the recipt and think, DAMN $62 for a 750ml bottle! I mean this is some kickin stuff.
Later in the evening Im outside cleaning the hot tub for the wife and I decide to go in and fix a drink. I fix a couple drinks with the sugar cube and all and i'm enjoying all the mystique and crap when I realize I really don't care for the taste. So I revert back to my youthful habit of just taking shots...Man what a rush!
So I'm cleaning the hot tub and all of a sudden I start loosing vision in my right eye! I'm freaking out! I think to myself, damn I feel okay just a little woosie. I keep going but it just doesn't get any better so I go in the house and into the bathroom to check and see if my eyes are red and damn! One of the lenses has fallen out of my glasses!

Hey that gives me an ideal for a new gallery category! Jeep butts!

...wait that might not be a good idea, I know no one wants to see my fat ass and I definately don't want to see any of the guys butts on here.

pokey ^ One of the great things about southern California, you can explore the desert in the morning, and make it back to the beach in the afternoon to check out the hot chicks..

pokey My friend bought a bottle of the Lucid brand awhile back. It came with the little sugar spoon thing and a couple of glasses. It isn't cheap. We wandered around Joshua Tree Nat'l Park looking for Gram Parsons resting place, came back to the cabin and enjoyed the Absynthe experience. If you've never heard of Gram Parson's Joshua Tree connection, google it. Or check out the video titled 'Gram Theft Parsons', based on the true story. Hilarious.

adkjoe ^haha I've been on an Absinth and horror movie binge for the past week. Dishes and laundry are piling up, sick day's are being used...it's a viscous cycle....

burton160w I've had it while over in Belgium. I'm a black licorice fan, but it takes it to the extreme. Like a blast of Jager and the syrupy sweetness of Sambuca It's good, but it's not my first choice. And no, I didn't hallucinate. Just made an ass of myself in Antewerp

Yea I think a shotgun blast would be the better of the two. Personally, I'm a jumper though if I had to choose (could never really do it, I'm gonna see this $hit to the end). I read a really interesting book a couple years ago about reading peoples personalities by the way they would choose to kill themselves (the jumper, the shooter, hanging yourself, etc..) I wish I could remember what it was called, good book.

A decent bottle of champagne and absinthe is the ticket to disconnecting your brain from you body.
