60mg Mine is a 95 Rio Grande 2.5l and I have hoses going straight to the firewall. There is a tube about 5 - 6" coming up from the top of the pump that goes along left side of the valve cover (and normally is rusted and brakes very easily by now) which one of the hoses goes on. It sounds like it's a 2.5 with a carb rather.

markharmon Yep only 4 cylinders do I guess it is a 2.5. Still puzzled why hayes manual show heater line going pump to intake and intake to heater core? Unless maybe it's a year thing? Mine is 95.

Is it a 2.5 or 4.0?

I just replaced rad and heater hoses. After looking at Hayes manual I noticed my hater hoses go from pump to firewall. According to manual that's a 4.0. They show 2.5 goes to intake then to firewall.
