|Ripper94YJ||ive got a stock 35 locked with an aussie sittin on 33s, i beat the hell out of it and it hasnt broken yet, not saying its the best of ideas but it'll last you awhile if you dont drive like a complete a-hole|

|birtydugger||i upgraded my D35 axleshafts to chromoly $330 from quadratec..then put the powertrax no-slip locker in $420,..on 33" muds for 3 yrs now!.. never any problems in any terrain!! mud, snow , and wooded trails...they are 30% stronger than standard..we dont do much rock crawling here (uk)|

I run an Aussie Locker in my front D30 and I love it. Gets me to and out of more places than I was able to do with open diffs. I only rin 31s, but I do get into some pretty technical areas. If you wheel with a light right foot, you should be good. But be prepared for possible damage.

|jeepjones||Which locker is it? You can always get a super 35 kit for the axle until you can afford or want upgrade to a better one. Or get alloy shaft's to beef it up a bit. All depends on what type of wheeling you do. I've got friends with Lockright lockers in there D35's with 35" tires and they wheel the snot out of there rigs without any problems.|

|cpisani89||Figured that was it, for whatever reason he has been running 35s on his d35 with a locker for quite some time with no problems lol...guess he's just lucky, thanks for the help|

Do not I repeat do Not put a locker in a d35 and put 33's on it. I wouldn't lock a d35 with 29's on it. If you do run to the junkyard and pick up some spare shafts and matching ring and pinion.
Unfortunatly you have the problem 99% of Jeep wheeler have in upgrading the rear axle.
Your options can boil down to two.
Ford Exlporer 8.8 with disk brakes ( welding needed)
Dana 44 from some TJ's and all LJ's bolt right in.

Ok guys I have a few questions regarding lockers. First off, my friend has an autolocker for a D35 for sale and I'm thinking about buying it off him...my question is: is it worth it?
Isn't a locker added strain on an axle and its components or have I been misinformed?
An fyi, I will be running 33" tires in a few months.
If it is worth locking the 35, how much would be a fair price for a used locker? On quadratec they run for $350 brand new but he isn't giving me any numbers...
Any info would be great
