Been getting into archery as a local park has free classes and shooting days twice a week.
The instructors recently said i should get my own bow... An instructor was showing a few of us regulars a different shooting style than they teach which he called "bow hunting" style - man did i take to that.
He was surprised that switching that style, using the class bows, I was able to hit playing cards within 10 shots. Says I might have a natural talent???
Anyway - now which bow to chose...
Stay with recurve
go to compound
shoot the new smaller compounds with the wrist/trigger release - more consistent but could be prone to the distance adjustments going offspec or your trigger breaking/left in the Jeep
Get the longer compound bow and finger release - unless you REALLY bounce around in the Jeep you don't have to worry about your brain not working but would take longer to master and not be as consistent due to fingers vs trigger

Getting my son a mission still made by Matthews he is really starting to enjoy shooting which just adds more excitement for me. Hopefully he will be ready for his first buck this season.|

I haven't taken it hunting yet, but i plan to next fall. I never made time to get my license this year. Until then, I'll just keep working with targets.|

Nothing like bow hunting. 2012 had a bear tag...something about hunting an animal that could er would EAT you, with a stick and string. I had a sow at 12 yds full draw and her damn yearly cub sticks his head up...ugh! Next year!

|muddypaws||What are you shooting? I shoot a Matthews. Id say she's pretty fast. But I'm a daddys girl and he taught us never more than 30 so i respect that all of my shots have been kill and just never felt the need to step outside that boundary.|
