Ummm you shouldn't have a concern since you already have a 15 in place. The smaller spline outs were pretty much on the ax4/5's and ba15's.,,which means someone changed the case when they did the motor/tranny swap originally. I think your good to go.

"91" AX-15 bolt up to my unkown year 4.2?
I have an 89 YJ that currently has a 4.2 and YES an ax-15 in it. My wrangler was originally a 2.5 and the 4.2 and AX-15 were dropped in at a later time. I have NO idea what year the 4.2 and current AX-15 are from. Anyway, unfortunately the current trans is toast and I have a lead on an Ax-15 from a 1991 wrangler that had a 4.0.
Should I have ANY problems marrying these two up to my unknown year 4.2 seeing how I currently have an ax-15 already on it??
I guess what I'm asking is there any differences between years of AX-15's to inhibit the transplant??
