I put a 2K inverter in my JK last winter and ran a 110V household outlet to the back deck and put one in my center console. It's awesome for camping I've been ribbed a little for bringing the blender on camping/fishing trips, but once I start makin the wife frozen margaritas everyone wants one and the ribbing shuts up pretty quick
As far as lights... on the DJ, I got some 80W halogens on the bumper that are pointed about 40 degrees left/right, and a hand held spot light, and the hand held spot is hands down the more useful in the fishing/camping context.

Thanks for the suggestions. Its exactly what I'm looking for. Keep them coming. Right now it has BS Duelers on it. They might be slightly more aggressive than what is on my wife's Accord but have worked so far as long as its not too muddy. Waiting for them to wear out to get BFG's or something similar.
I've been looking at rack designs and have been thinking about making one. I like the look and I think I would actually use it.
I keep tools and recovery strap on board at all times. Luckily (or unluckily) don't have to use them too often.

|pokey||As you already know, Jeeps are very trail-ready straight from the factory. Mine is also stock. I don't think anymore lights would benefit you. The light bars across the top of the windshield are for crazy pre-running through the desert. You have a C.B., this is good. I still have the stock bumpers, which for light to moderate wheeling are fine. If you want to spend the money on aftermarket bumpers it would be strictly to make your jeep a little more personal. Which is also fine. The only thing I may add to my jeep would be an overhead rack, like the Garvin wilderness rack. I say, save your money and rock it stock. But that's just me. p.s - I have BFG a/t P235 75 15's and as said above, a great tire .|

Are those street tires? When you replace them, consider getting some all terrain tires. They'd be better off road and give it a more aggressive look... especially if you moved up to some 30s or 31s. I recommend the BFG All-Terrain TA/KO. Best AT tire you can buy. On a TJ, you can go up to a 31 on the stock suspension without changing anything. I *think* it's the same for YJs, but don't quote me on that.
My favorite accessories are my PIAA crystal ion fog lights. They're freaking amazing. They're brighter than the stock high beams.
It doesn't sound like you'd use a winch. Just bring your brother in law with you when you go wheeling. A tow strap wouldn't hurt though.

We ride dirtbikes just south of you in the Elizabeth area. I agree on the 33's finding a use. Long term, this YJ will probably get up there, or I may have some fun building something I don't have to drive to work on Mondays. Its stock at this point. I have put in an older CB for trails. It has stock fog lights on the bumper, but they aren't great. Most of what I have planned so far are mechanical things like Nutter Bypass and MC carb and things like that, but I'd also like to do some mods that are simple and useful. I'm looking forward to what everybody has to say.

Recovery equipment and some basic tools can go a long way. Again, not sure if you already have that covered or not.
As for the lights, that could go either way. Are you caught out after dark often? I had a decent set on my CJ. My friends and I were always running to and from a lake on a friend's property many times it was after dark. The extra candlepower really paid off when running through the trails.
I don't have time to run out there like I used to when I was younger, so I haven't been in a rush to put lights on the YJ. I do miss them on the rare occasion I'm out at night and it will have a set soon, but I think it all depends on how often you'll use them.
Oh, and no use for 33's? I'm sure you could find a use for them, but then you'll find a use for 35's, 37's etc... It's a slippery slope.
Just evaluate how you use it or want to use it and work towards mods that will facilitate that. I have a feeling that this thread will yield some good suggestions though.

Mine is stock and goes where I want it to. Other than tires and wheels, I added a rear bumper/tire rack that holds two Jerry cans. Had it built here in town at Winchready. Looks really good imo

Common Sense Mods
I'd like to get some advice from everyone's experience. I've had my Jeep about a year and a half, and I'd like to "personalize" it a little. I don't do any heavy wheeling, but drive it about 25 miles a day to and from work and use it a lot for camping, logging roads, winter driving, pulling dirtbikes, etc. I like the look of it fairly stock ('88 Sahara on 29s) so I'm not looking at lifts at this point. I love built up Jeeps, but I also like appreciating what they can do from the factory, so this one will stay pretty simple.
My question is, what are some good, honest, hard-working mods? Being mechanically sound is my top priority, but after that, my short list includes tub liner and good waterproof seat covers. What are some others? Are lights useful? If so, how many are useful and how many is just more? Is a winch of any use if you don't have a lift? What kinds of bumpers/armor are really necessary if I'm doing light to moderate wheeling? Etc?
I'm sure there are guys and gals who use their Jeep similar to me, so what are the mods you have found to have real benefit? Most of what I've found in searching is more along the lines of which lift to get and other things like that. They are great and very helpful, but what if I don't have any use for 33's? (at least at this point )
