They will do what I want. As far as fading, took delivery of Jeep in July and looks as good today as the day it was delivered. They guarantee it for life so im not too worried. The Jeeps they build for "production" are for the person who just wants to buy a jeep already done and ready to go that look good and purpose built for light offroading(My Wife). If she is happy with what is on the car, then im happy.
I was just describing what the coating looks like to someone who hasn't seen it before. I'm sure it provides great protection although I'm a little dubious about the benefits of Kevlar since Kevlar products are fiber-based and layered to provide their toughness. There's a Starwood in my 'hood that was done with Off Camber upgrades, is black Kevlar, and has a take on the old Renegade stripes in red Kevlar. It looks awesome! I like what Starwood does, I just wish they'd have a little more variety than all the charcoal grey, Smitty-fied ones that are out there.

thanks, I'm trying to decide if flats would look ok with a 1.5 lift and 33 duratracs

HunterTheBeagle I don't typically like the pocket style but in this case I do. I think they look better with the front bumper than the flat. Plus they offer great protection which is nice.

leemastergt Has Starwood worked out the issues they had with the bedliner fading? I saw pictures of a few that were around a year old that needed a completely new paint job. That was a year+ ago though.

Google Starwood autos in Dallas. They do custom rigs with everything Smittybuilt makes bolted to 'em and paint them with a supposedly Kevlar-based bedliner. They sell a bunch of them around DFW. I'm sure there are other places that can do the same coating for you.

WebDevDan Leaning toward the flats. When the time comes, I'm going for the in-between... Rugged Ridge's hurricane flares. Flat flares with pockets.
03-17-2014 06:54 PM
Annhl8rX I prefer the pocket flares.

"horrible" seems a bit dramatic. The Pocket flares look good, a very strong/aggressive look. It looks like a SWAT vehicle or something along those lines.

Dragonscape Both versions need "Beefier" tires
Run flats on alternating weeks
Both look good with that set-up

Looks like a Starwood so it'd be Kevlar dipped.

Billy Baldone Flats...
03-17-2014 04:54 PM
n3tfury If the pockets make it look beefier, that means you need bigger tires.

03-17-2014 03:19 PM
Wrong Way Hal Although both look good, my pref would be your original flats.
