Garyk I would double check connections before investing in new gauges, sounds like bad wiring.
As far as the temp sending unit, they are pretty flimsy and can break pretty easily when installing, double check that. I am assuming that you changed the right one, the one at the rear of the head on drivers side...4 cyl.

Lariatryder I got the sending unit at standard auto parts. I'm in the Houston area.

YJPunisher213 bad wire or bad guages, also depends on where you got the sending unit. If you got it (or any jeep part for that matter) AutoZone just save yourself the headache and take it back. Spend a few extra bucks for quality. As for new guages, ebay, craigslist or Amazon.com

gauges gauges gauges

after alot of searching, reading and replacing my temp sending unit. I cannot get my temp gauge to work. I took it apart and everything looked fine. also now my fuel gauge doesn't work. it was way past full and now it doesn't even move with the key on. back to the temp gauge. the temp gauge still moves just a tad when the key is on. Im stummped. where can i buy stock replacment gauges? Im not good with electrical stuff so I would prefer plug and play. any suggestions please? thanks in advance.
