Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Hope to solve this noise soon. A trip to Kansas hearing that all the way will make me crazy. Hope you all have a great Christmas.

LovethisTJ I have a 98 sport tj and mine does the same thing. But when the jeep warms up a little it doesn't make a sound. I haven't thought anything about it. Then again, lots of things squeak and rattle in jeeps haha

P.s. Welcome!!

New to Jeep

I am a new Jeep owner, not a new Jeep. It is a 1997 Wrangler Sport. I am very happy to find this forum and found some answers to some of my questions. I still have one question: Now that it is colder out, in the mornings when I start up the vehicle, and turn the steering wheel to either side, there is a rubbing noise. I have checked the P.S. level and it is ok, does this mean my P.S. pump is going out or what? Please keep in mind, I am over 55 and this is my first Jeep. Not to mention I am female, and never worked on anything but a VW Beetle before.
