I have learned the hardway,,, new is new...period. I went through the same thing you are going through, I know it is tempting with the used RUBI,, but new is new,, I would buy the Sport.. at least you are the only owner ,and have a full warranty.

If it were me, I'd want the "S" package upgrade for power door locks and windows. Maybe consider the the limited slip differential for snow and the trailer tow package for the bigger stock gears creating better low end torque. I also like the subwoofer, since it makes the factory system passable and can scratch that off your mod list. How about side airbags? (FYI, tough to find).
Also, if you like any of the available stock wheels, you may want to consider pricing out upgrading through the dealer since they'll credit you some cash for giving up your original wheels. Even if not though, you could sell them aftermarket to offset your cost too.
Whatever the case, with a Wrangler, there's almost nothing you can't do aftermarket. (Though not airbags.) So you can always "fix it" if you've got to pass on an option or two to get the right price--remember they're not building 2010s anymore.

|jk'n||I just put a set of 16 inch steel pulloffs probably from somebody's sport or X on my Rubicon. I am super happy with them. The tire however is an aggressive studded snow with the same profile as the stock Rubicon tires. No change in the ride. They look awesome and will perform awesome. So, just changing the tires out can make a difference.|

I use my 2010 for daily driving, bad weather and light trail riding. I don't need a Rubicon. If money were no issue, I would have bought a Rubi, but I wasn't going to spend more for something I didn't need.
If you go for new, GET THE TREAD LIGHTLY MEMBERSHIP!!! It saved me $1700!!!
Curious: How are you getting a 1% difference on used vs. new? I have great credit (over 750) and I wasn't getting anything under 5% difference. I'd look a little more closely at the total amount of payments between the 2.

|ESP||Bought my new 2010 JK Sport with Hardtop out the door for $21,500 from the dealer. I would go for the sport if your not going to be trialing hard. The sport is extremely capable off road and you'll have thousands of dollars still in your pocket.|

The only thing about buying through a used dealership is that they probably don't certify. You get so much more in warranty if you get your used Jeep certified Pato gave a good example in another thread.

|JKU-Danger||The rubi comes with a year warranty from the used truck dealership, which seems to be a pretty reputable dealership in this area and a 15 day return policy. and also the remainder of the factory warranty.|

my kneejerk response is take the new jeep over the one with 22 thousand miles,every time.
New is better,you don't know what the heck that Rub has went through. Take the new one.

I bought a 2010 2door Rubi with 3k miles about 6 months ago for $25,800. It is a 6spd manual with every possible option (NAV, side airbags, dual tops, etc) except for leather seats. It even came with Mopar heated seats, the Daniel Stern wiring harness with upgraded bulbs, and Quadratec floor mats.
Good luck with your search. If you're patient there are deals out there.

That is the great thing about these type of vehicles. they just hold their value, especially Rubicon's that haven't been beaten to death. You need to really inspect the Rubi's under carriage and I would have a mechanic look it over just to make sure it wasn't abused. It can look nice up top but road hard over rocks.
I love my 2010 Sport and being it is a daily driver that can hit the trail is nice but if I was going to off road a lot then the Rubi would be a better value in the fact it has better off roading upgrades from the start.

|JKU-Danger||It might end up being my daily driver, I have a little Nissan frontier I drive now, but who would want to drive that if you have jeep in the garage, Haha. I probably won't be doing any heavy trail-riding, live in FL, don't know of any heavy stuff but maybe eventually.|

|jk'n||After having owned both a 2008 Sahara Unlimited and a 2008 Rubicon Unlimited, I'm firmly in the Rubicon corner. Mine is stock pretty much and it performs so well it sends shivers up my spine thus I say shiver me timbers! But I'm definitely partial.|

used 2009 rubicon or new 2010 sport? please help
Need help deciding between the two.
The rubi is a 2009 auto with 22k on it. Looks like it has pretty much everything but nav (pwr windows, locks, hardtop, etc.) Asking price $27,995.
The sport is a brand new 2010 and the only options are auto, hardtop, and 6 speaker infinity stereo system. Asking price $24,500.
I can get a little better interest rate on the new of course. About 1% better.
Also how much should I be asking for each of these?
