cedarcreekjerky my tailpipe got ripped off while playing and i put a turn down on as a cheap fix. To me it seems louder and annoying inside. Mine also blows on the rear end and causes it to be very warm and your going to need to relocate a hanger. Needless to say its going to the exhaust shop soon.

Is exhaust entering your car like jeepjones said could possibly happen? Do you have softop or hardtop?

CJS98TJ I was going to try and find a turn down that could be bolted on some how like a Uclamp? I think thats what it is called not sure but possibly angle it out toward the side a little bit? Would that help at all you think?

jeepjones It will be somewhat louder outside as well as inside, my only concern would be is if it would allow the exhaust entry into the cab especially with the use of the soft top. As for the emissions it shouldn't affect it at all.

Jeep TJ Exhaust question

I have a 98 tj 4 in full traction 33 toyo open countrys with cat and welded flowmaster muffler running with stock piping out the rear. I really dont like the look of it. I want to cut after the muffler and do a turn down after the skid plate keeping both muffler and cat. That wont affect smog right? Id still like o be able to pass with flying colors I just dont like how the exhaust runs out the back IMO. How much will it affect the sound? Im not trying to go louder but I dont care to much if it changes. Id just prefer turndown

Thanks
