Sorry about the deep end, one of those days when you're looking around thinking what the hell happened.

(4jeepn.... kudos, you said what I thought but didn't have the balls to say)
No worries Tiny, I understand fully I just try not to think that deep.

As far as what 4jeepn said that's another sore subject with my Family. One of the Special forces guys that was dragged was a good friend of my brother's and they served together in the Ranger's before he went SF and My Bro got out. I personally didn't know him but I saw how my brother reacted to the whole thing. My personal experience with other cultures is minimal but from what I know most would love our money and help but have no problem at all turning on us because we are the big bad evil Americans.

I still believe we should take care of our own back yard before playing in someone elses. There are exceptions to everything though.

I spoke to some american's to night and they told me how blind and snow jobed some african missionaries are. They said that while the US give's more money to help in other parts of the world than anyone, some people think it should be a bottom less pit, cuz we are rich and they are not. That, war lords run rampent in Africa, killing, raping, all for there own self ego's, that genocide is being commited. That when we did go over to help they dragged the bodies of our service men through the streets.

Odhinn I don't usually watch movies like that. I watch movies and play video games to escape from reality. That might be why I hate reality TV also.

This thread went A little to deep for my taste but I do know how messed up our society is and how people treat others. Every day I deal with a number of things that I have to make decisions about immediately pertaining to safety and performance. Most of the time I get at least one person that decides that I am worth a 4 letter word and usually that word has been invented from pure hatred of me and my final Decision on a matter. This profanity is usually met by me with a "Thats nice, we all have problems and the one at hand is the most important so let's deal with it." Unfortunately I have hardened over the years and it has affected the way I interact with others on a day to day basis. As My mother always told me Don't sink to their level but treat them with respect and if that fails then just avoid them. Ethnocentrism, stubborness, the NOW mentality, and the I'm right and your wrong attitude are a bad combination when not controlled.

I hope my muttering didn't throw to many people off

Looking back on one's life once they've made it to a place they want to be is an interesting exercise it realizing other's impact on where you end up. I've always been fascinated how little choices, little events, shape and push your life to where it is now.

I bet we can all look back on something we found painful when it happened and draw a line back to see how that event took us to a place we needed to be. It's a chain. Every link is important to the next and the whole chain.

ok, I'm done exposing my Taoist roots.

No matter what you do, other people impact your life everyday, just as you impact theirs. It's by chance, a roll of the dice. That's why people should put more thought into what they do. We're each like a raindrop on a lake, our actions intersect everyone else's and in some instances, change others lives negatively without us even knowing.

Crash

Just got done watching the movie "Crash" starring Sandra bullock, Don Cheadle, and Matt Dillon. About Individuals from differing socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds and have their judgements and actions tested by prejudice in post 9/11 Los angeles.

Anyway its one of those movies where its telling a story of many different peoples lives and in the end all their lives start to collide together. Iv seen accouple movies like this and it seems to disturb me for some reason and I cant seem to figure out why. Maybe its too "Real" for me as I'm used to action and sci-fi movies. It was a very sad movie, because the good guys end up doing the thing that they hated and the "Bad" guys end up seeing the error of their ways and do something to redeem their actions.

Has anyone else seen this movie or seen any movies like it? Tell me what you thought and how you felt about it.

~Lev
