sevenservices my dad always had a sign in the house...

"Boat: A hole in the water surrounded by wood into which one pours money!"

...nice jeep by the way! And hey, you could always put on a snorkel kit and take it in the water if your missing it!

JEEP: Just Empty Every Pocket

I just got back from Florida and spent a long weekend on my Dad's boat. It was fun. It's tied up right out his backdoor, which makes it a lot better than getting the trailer, waiting for the launch, etc. It used to take hours just to spend a bit of time in an Oregon lake. This time it was just hop in and go.

But here in Colorado there are surprisingly huge numbers of big boats. Sailboats even. But I don't know where they go. The lake by me is not big enough to sail on in my opinion.

Sold my boat, bought a Jeep...

..., but damn if I don't miss my boat. I spent a winter restoring her. New transom, stingers, deck, total upholstery, etc...

Moved to FL & things changed. You'd think moving to here you'd be crazy to sell it, but I couldn't really store at my house (HOA rules), & I saltwater tripled maintenance.

So I bought a Jeep...

...which is sorta like the boat without the water, & am REALLY enjoying it, but now that summer is just about here there are some regrets. Don't get me wrong, I love my Jeep, but I miss my boat too.

I don't, however, miss all the maintenance. 1hr prepping, 1hr cleaning up, paying for gas, paying for storage, & everything that breaks. Not sure if I'm talking about a Jeep or a boat at this point.

Oh well, I'll have another boat someday, but will need another vehicle to tow it. The boats I'm eying now weigh more than my Jeep
