InfernoGirl I sanded mine and hit it with some Rustoleum Rust Reformer.... cheap enough from AZ and seems to be working ok for now. I only had a half dozen or so spots that were looking bad and wanted to stop it sooner than later...

cork1958 Will be sandblasting mine next spring and rust proofing. If you're going to do something like this, might as well do it right. Dude down the road from has a garage with a pit and sand blasting machine. Said I could use it for free. All I have to do is buy the sand.

Subscribed to this thread though to see what other suggestions might come along.

Surface Rust

I have some surface rust on my frame, and I want to paint it or put on a protective coating. Por-15 looks like a great solution, but it is very expensive. Has anyone else done this project with different options and good results? Thanks in advance.
