TRV-Toyota Rescue Vehicle I don't know where your from. But I'm from Washington and a local 4x4 supply shop, "Olympic 4x4" has a HUGE wrecking yard of wranglers and motor parts! Guaranteed they'll have one. They would probably ship it out to wherever your at. Try giving em a call.

Gary2 PSC sells a remote reservoir but not as cheap as an OE on Ebay . I have seen OE reservoirs on ebay and being it is a remote type to begin with you could adapt almost any reservoir that you could connect the to hoses to in a pinch . I think the neon had a remote one just do a search on Ebay where they have pictures and ask what size hose fits it . their was a fellow a few weeks ago who was in the same boat as you as far as coming up with one from the dealer , it wasn't happening . He did eventually find an OE reservoir on Ebay . their are a million of them for the 4.0 but not to many for the 4cyl.

geiman Yeah, the 2.5 has the remote reservoir; had the same problem a few months ago when I needed to change the pump. When removing the hoses, the plastic piece the hose slides onto broke off. Had a heck of time finding a new one, ended up finding a Jeep-only junk yard that had one for $15. I was new to the area, so didn't know it existed yet or I would have tried there first. From now on, if a hose is difficult to remove it gets cut off.

kentiboater Yea for the 4.0 the pump and the reservoir are one piece but for the 2.5 they are separate and the reservoir hangs off the fan shroud. The direct address to the website is:
MoparOnlineParts.com

Jerry Bransford I didn't think the reservoir was separately replaceable without also replacing the PS pump. I replaced my old PS pump and when it came off, I seem to recall the reservoir was part of the pump. The replacement pump I installed had a separate reservoir, just not what I removed.

kentiboater I cant get a picture at the moment maybe a little later, also couldn't find one on the internet so i'll have to get back to you on that one

Ibuildembig Got a pic of it? Might be the same as a yj?

Gary2 4.0 it is mounted on the pump and nothing like the 2.5 which is mounted on the fan shroud . they look nothing alike they don't connect anything alike . You could buy most any remote resevoir . Check PSC's site . try one of the used auto parts sites on the net and they will ship it to you . do a search on the net for used auto parts and go from there .

kentiboater I mean is there anything significantly different between the two? Could i install the one for the 4.0 and just rig it to the fan shroud?
11-30-2010 01:07 PM
jasonwrangler 4.0 and 2.5 have different reservoirs I think 4.0 is on the PS pump while 2.5 has a separate one.

jeepjones Why don't you try a few wreckers and parts supply stores in your area first?

Power steering resevoir

My power steering resevoir in my 97' TJ is leaking. I called up my local jeep dealership and they say that there is a seventy person back order on them and they don't know when they will become available. I have been looking around on the internet for awhile an found a power steering resevoir but it says that it is for the 4.0 not the 2.5. Is there anything different between the two? And does anyone know where i can find a new resevoir online?
