OklaTJ Mine is not the best but for right now it will work I plain to fabricate a new one soon!

JIMBOX -Heh Heh, OklaTJ made his own bracket--thats ingenious

Mine is much simpler--just buy a Rockhard rollcage ()

There are several other ways-tuffy overhead console, I think Bestop has one

Checkout "search" for --overhead consoles-

Good luck

davis_use Scout,
I've been looking at a Cobra all-in-one handheld CB, the 75, I think the model number is...
Is that the same one you have? If not, which is yours? And how do you like it?
Thanks!!!

I have the same bracket on my Jeep. I think it ran me about $25. Let me know if you have any troubles with your CB rattling while you drive over anything bumpy if you decide to get it. Mine does and I would like to find out if I just mounted something incorrectly of if it is a design flaw. It is very simple to install though.

Stas73 Hi All, I am new one here and very glad to join such a great jeepers community!
After considering a several possible location to mount my CB radio and checking what other folks done I came up with this set up. It is do not require any drilling, the wiring s almost invisible, no cords and cables hanging from the top. I hope it will help someone to install CB radio in a TJ.

duaneduanet Another place you can mount it is to the front of your console. That is where I had mine mounted on my YJ.

I mounted mine just to the right of the shifter next to the ashtray...fits good for now...id show you a pic but my cb is at the shop getting a new Calibration Meter put in...but I feel your pain with TJ's they have so much room to play and us YJ guys have to get creative with how we put things. I'm actually waiting for temps to get about 10 degrees warmer and everything is coming out and getting placed back in...and i'm thinking of a Console too so if you do one i would like to see how you did yours...

duaneduanet I put a overhead console in my jeep and I love it. But I wouldn't recommend it if you are tall. I am 5' 7" so it works for me. And if installing it in a YJ with a sound bar you will have to put sound pods in or fab the sound bar so that there is no middle to it.

I just installed mine yesterday and put mine where the little tray is on the right side directly in front of the shifter. I cut out the back lip of the tray and about 2/3 of the bottom of the tray so the CB would sit a little further down under the dash. Clean looking and out of the way.

PecosRiver Saw this when I Googled “Overhead CB mount for Jeep” and thought it was workable.

MP - Jeep CB Mount Bracket Mini CB TJ [MP 100002055-00] - $25.95 : Jeep Outfitter

I'm totally going to get one of those btw...much cleaner than most installs and doesn't look like it'd be as big of a pain running the wires compared to the overhead mounts.
Yeah, I like where it positions the CB. I'll post some pics of it when I get it all installed. I think I'll be happy with it.

duaneduanet 2002apex you can't do that cause the the power issue might blow your radio.

2002Apex I have an auxilary plug on my sony headunit, i have a 510 uniden cb(not hooked up yet), Im wondering if i plug my cb aux speaker into the auxilary plug-in, would the sound go through the speakers? i currently listen to music off my mp3 player and blackberry through the aux plug-in on the radio.

loosen up the hard top, put a piece of wood across the roll bars and secure, then mount the radio to the wood.

bluvikng There is also a bracket, that bolts up behind your tail light. You can get it for either side. Than just put on a little steely wip, or 3'-4' fiberglass antenna, which ever you prefer. I just mounted a short steely on there, so it would not break, if coming into contact with a branch, or something.

You can mount the antenna horizontally but you will dramatically reduce effective range, your signal is polarized in relation to your antenna, if it's vertical it will be received best by another vertical antenna, if it's horizontal, it will be received best by a horizontal antenna.
Then there's skip but that's for later...

MOz Behind the arm rest can work too if your radio is not so wide. I have a large Cobra set so I'm planning to mount it under the dash on the passenger side.

Triple88a Nicolas eric cut the dash man. It will only need a little but of trimming.

now..
