Roshko So, you have a 98 Tj. Hey Mr. Jones? The ones known for popping out of 1st gear, breaking a driveshaft on the road in soft snow, leaks everywhere, Did I mention, Tj's are the ugliest of all Jeeps (before the bashing starts, I had one), You can not fit a human in the back of it, underpowered......Should I keep going? You sir, are a little whiney bitch, and I'm ashamed you are Canadian. I've driven every wrangler, with different configurations, from a 79 Cj, to the present Jk. And the Jk, trumps them all, by leaps and bounds. If you are so unhappy with life in general, as it seems....take your superior Jeep, Drive it into a lake, but keep your seatbelt on, and don't take it off. You'll get rid of the jeep, and we'll get rid of a whiney little bitch.....WIN WIN!!!! Have a great evening!!!!!!!

RAV-4?!?!?!? Hey now, no need to throw cuss words!

I agree with most of your statements regarding people's expectations of new vehicles. Nothing is perfect.

By no means am I say my Jeep is a POS, I'm simply stating the VERY MINOR issues I have so far had. Not big problems at all, all well within normal manufacturing limits. EVERY car has problems, the only difference is really in the severity of such issues. Jeeps are often used more rigorously than most vehicles and are therefore subject to more wear and tear. I have gone offroading with my Jeep more than I had with my old Fords (which were extremely well built as well) in the limited time I have owned it. Jeeps are awesome, but they aren't bulletproof or immune to wear and tear- no vehicle is.

GCDMD Love my Jeeper creeper, but its had a coupld of burps:
1000 miles: driver side front axle seal leak- replaced
2000 miles: driver side front axle seal leak- entire axle assembly replaced due to manufacturing defect

6000 miles: passenger side front window stops coming up: power window regulator on door replaced.

So far so good for now....at 6200 miles.
Other than that, I love my Jeep and will keep her until the wheels fall off!

Ballandchain 11k miles now. But at around 7k, I had a connector for my passes enter side airbag break. Nothing major and was fixed real quick.

chaseskii88 lets see 2007 bought last sept with 15k on her
at 19k i broke the track bar mount and had to replace steering stabilizer (my fault)
22k rear pads went also had to adjust my ebrake easy fix
22,500 k got death wobble fixed that myself also easy fix still get a slight shimmy at or around 40-45 but push through it it goes away
and she is sitting waiting on me to get back state side now will never get rid of her either to much fun in a jeep

Aussie Jeeper 90,000KMH Battery died and needed front pads.

But to all those saying that the JK is crap, that's not true. The TJ would have had it's problems when it first started out. I've owned both a TJ and a JK and although I've had fun in the TJ, I still think the JK exceeds it by miles. I can start listing the problems that I had with the TJ if you want....

jondotcom 2012 JK Sport, front left axle seal started gushing at 1200 miles, dealer immediately asked if I had been off-roading or mudding, duh, it's a Jeep and your ads show it off-roading !!!!

RemoJK Axle Shaft at about 33k. I may have pushed it a little bit

We have had the 2002 TJ for over 10 years now and we have only replaced sway bars and a muffler (muffler by choice because he wanted stainless steel). Oh and the soft top, which was by choice also. Other than that...nothing has done wrong with it. Of course we are OCD about taking care of our Jeeps. the 2002 has little over 33000 miles on it...lol. And it has two sets of tires (summer ones and winter ones). It gets washed once a month, waxed three times a year, oil changed twice a year (can't wait for 3000 miles...that would take forever).

I have a feeling my Jeep will be the same way. I am actually more OCD about my Jeep then he is about his...so...with hope, if I do my part this Jeep will last me until I am atleast 50!

Guys like that are funny. It will be this way until a couple newer version of the Wranglers are out and he buys a used JK. Then the JK will be better than the newer xyz version.

I wonder if he only flys on prop planes because those new fangled jets aren't any good.

Hmmm....uses too much gas, parts broken when hitting rocks, worn out carpet - yeah really "big" issues there. If a Toyota or some other "off road wannabe" had only similar issues, they would be considered king of the hill - but they aren't. That is why Jeep, and only Jeep, is truly King of the Hill.

Frankfig69 Also new battery at 30000 miles.
05-20-2012 05:27 PM
Frankfig69 New Engine at 34000. Miles and lock in steering wheel.
05-20-2012 09:47 AM
1quick1 passenger sway bar link was completely loose by 3k miles. My brother who works at Jeep took a video for the QC manager.
05-20-2012 09:15 AM
mzbrandi Let's see. at 1,400 miles my key fob died and would not remotely unlock/lock the doors. Was such a pain to key the doors and then key the ignition to turn off the alarm. Covered repair. 2012 Call of Duty.
Go Jeep

ChrisMR589 08 JKU
Steering Stabilizer at 15000 miles. That was scary! Cruising down the highway at about 70 on a bend, hit a bump and I thought I was dead! Had to actually stop on road to stop wheels/steering from shaking terribly.
05-20-2012 02:52 AM
Lane24 Had to replace brake pads and machine the rotors at 14,0000 kms which is roughly 8750 miles... was squealing like a pig.
05-20-2012 02:10 AM
WranglerJR83 2007 JKU auto 4x4. Here's what I can remember so far, I'm sure there is more that I haven't found yet.

40k - steering stabilizer, hood hold downs
60k - water pump and rear diff gasket
62k - brakes are making a god awful squeaking during regular driving and I think I need another new steering stabilizer.
