RDD I think I will be meeting a buddy around 1:00pm and doing Broard Run on Sunday but can do Elliot Creek before that. There is a Facebook Page we usually use to plan rides called
Sw Va Wranglers if anyone wants to join.

Blazor This was from a time I was on Elliott's about 5 years ago I think. Fun times.

Really leaning towards Bobblet's Gap on Saturday. May even fold the windshield down for the first time... but then I would have to go slower through the puddles lol. Last time it was real rutted and took some maneuvering but was doable. That was 2 years ago and dont know conditions right off.

Basically you can go 460 towards Christiansburg, or 81 (hop off at the first 118 exit), take left on Franklin st/615, follow out, turns into Pilot rd. Go a lil ways and there is a white church on the left. Take that road, Elliot Creek rd/675. I usually turn around at the end and go back through lol.

I'll post tomorrow evening what trail I may do and when. I just had my u-joints and ball joints replaced a couple weeks ago and itching to hit another trail lol. Top and doors off for sure, gonna be nice!

Fairly fun, but they closed off some of the mud holes unfortunately. Some still open I believe. I remember "trading mud" with a guy on a dirt bike long ago lol. Only thing you could see was his eyes and teeth lol.

Tub Run was too easy and boring to me lol. But that was a long time ago, maybe different now?

I may be hitting a trail either Saturday or Sunday as well.

Blazor I'm mostly stock, went from 30's to 31's BFG AT's which was a vast improvement over the stock Wranglers. The ones Im running now have 75,000 miles on them and still have tread! Need new ones in a few months. Still leaning towards going bigger lol.

Yeah creek crossings are my favorite lol.
08-12-2014 09:00 AM
CuteLilJeepinGirl I have heard of the show creek one...never done it though. Hear its pretty cool. So you are stock too? I do love creek crossings...Lol Will have to check the others out that your talking about!
08-12-2014 08:36 AM
Blazor Bald Mountain/Finwick Mines is real close to Potts Mountain, 615 to 617 and off to the right I think, would need to check my map. Lots of trails around you! Last I heard Patterson Creek trail was closed, but may of reopened. Couple other easy trails nearby there too, but too easy imo lol.

Bobblet's Gap is passed my area (Bonsack) in Montvale. Comes out near Buchanan. Hadnt been in a couple years, but was very fun cause of the ruts and such. To me since I couldnt do Potts, that was the next best one for a stocker lol.

Elliot Creek in Pilot is fun, plenty of creek crossings.

I havent done the one near Mountain lake yet, its over towards the Cascades Falls. Also havent done Shoe Creek yet which I've seen others mention on here. Dont recall where exactly that one is.

Couple others Im forgetting Im sure!
08-12-2014 08:13 AM
CuteLilJeepinGirl I haven't done any of these. Would like to check those out as well.
Broad Run was dry last time I went last month. It should be flowing again now though. I don't live far from there and the creeks are flowing again where I am. Where are these other trails you've mentioned?

I havent done this one either. Mostly cause I heard a lot is closed off now. But if its still a decent trail ride I'd be willing to check it out as well. As to where its at I dont know either lol.

Been wanting to hit Bobblet's Gap again too.

I did Bald Mountain/Finwick Mines trail a couple weeks ago. Wish they hadnt closed off Mill Creek, that was fun. Broad Run was dry then but maybe not now with all the rain.

Good starter is the Poor Mtn run from over near the Industrial park in Glenvar to the top of Bent Mtn.
