samnmax Sorry all for jacking this thread, I'm just a little curious, and am trying to expand my knowledge of, well, everything involving Jeeps. Anyway, I think I'm done.

lateralus3 yes 8.8 and d44 will work, as you said the gearing has to be the same

I'm looking at around $1600 for the rebuilt 8.8 with the lockers, and about $2300 for the new D44 with Detroit lockers and disc brakes.
Would an 8.8 on the back and a D44 on the front work, as long as they're both geared the same?

I've always wondered how that guy was working this deal because the axle bracket kit from MORE is $329 plus shipping.

We plan on making them for a while at least. We get our parts from
various places Barnes 4WD and MORE are the majority though. Thanks

samnmax ^^^ Yeah, I've been looking at those too, but am wondering about the quality of the parts he uses. I'd be real interested in buying one to replace my rear D35.

I got stuck because I was too close to the edge and slid in... at least I only submerged it 9 or 10 inches. I'm tellin' you, if I had lockers (and maybe a lift kit), I probably wouldn't have called you (but those lockers aren't coming till I put my front and rear Dana 44's on this spring). My only mistake, other than letting it slide into the river, was shutting it off after trying to get myself out, but you know, gas prices these days....

and then

The new building is A LOT smaller than the others, but it means less people for me to deal with... Arguing with engineers is not something I'm very good at, yet.
