|bluvikng||Got it. Thanks for the answer. Never thought about pre-lubing everything. Course I never thought I would go through a mud hole either. We pulled a Tahoe, out of the mud, and he challenged us jeepers, to go through it. Well I could not pass up the challenge, and got as stuck, as he did...... It was very sandy mud, and took the shine right out of the wheels. Anyway, thanks for your answer, I will give that a try.|

|Mudweiser||Well the M/T on the black jeep i work with him...ive seen him tear those things down and go at them with a high speed buffer and polishing compound before. But his rims are also 12+ years old. The other 2 are newer..coupls years old. But we keep our rigs waxed....especially before a ridin weekend. We keep silicate protectant in 55 gallon drums though..and before a ride just spray down everything..from undercarriage to rims. Makes clean up alot easier. I bog with my top off most of the time, but im the exception being im more stupid then most. But i guarantee i have more fun >..< Mothers does alright. But the turtle wax polishing compound does a great job with a buffer.|

|bluvikng||Hey Mudweiser, in your first photo, on the street, how do those guys keep their M/T Classic II wheels so shinny? Not trying to high jack this thread, just curious as the mud seems to take the shine right out of them. I have only tried some Mothers, at this point, and still can't get the original shine back in them. I guess I will have to get some jewelers rouge, and a buffing wheel. Just wondered if you had any ideas on it. Thanks.|

Personally i dont mind body lifts. Always run them...always will. Makes workin on the jeep alot easier as well as cleaning. But i do things with mine most of the guys here shudder at. If im not over my hood in mud..im not happy *shrug* Either jeep would be a good one. And either one could have problems...who knows. Make your choice on engine, drivetrain, interior more then accessories. Heres a few diff setups to compare too.
Black jeep with the chrome grill setup: 4" Trailmaster 1.25" BL 35x15.50 swamper SX on 12" rims
Mine Black Topless Jeep: 4" RC Suspension, 3" BL, 36x13.50 swamper iroks on 10" rims.
White Jeep: 4" susp, no BL, 35x14.50 SSRs on 12"rims
Greenish Jeep: Skyjacker rockready stage 1, 35x12.50 BFG on 10" rims.
Some misc piks.
I run another set of tires in the bogs on mine, 38.5x15.50 Boggers on 10" rims.
Just to give you an idea, Not all jeeps look so bad with the combo lifts.

i think the 2nd one is a 3 or 3 1/2 inch suspension lift, thats just me though
1st one def. has a body lift, probably a suspension lift as well

I would stay away from that yellow one. 2"+ body lifts look crappy and that thing is a prime example. The good side to that one is that its set up for some serious mall crawling (huge 2"+ body lift, tube steps, mall terrain tires, 10" rims and stock spare) and has probably never been off road. Then again I dont think I would take it off road.
If your just going to run the streets I think either would do Ok but if your going to go on any trails I would take the white one in a heartbeat over the yellow. Which is hard for me to say since I LOVE yellow Jeeps

What type of lift are you looking for? I mean like, how high? What size tires do you want?
IMHO - yes a full suspention lift is easier to maintain and repair, and better performance. But there is nothing wrong with a 1-1.25" body lift. In some situations they are needed.

there´s only a small gap. it´s a 1" or 1.25" BL. and the TC is lowered, there must be a susp. lift.

|Chad P||The first on does have a body lift. You can tell by the bumbers. If you just want tire clearence then bl is the way to go. But when you do suspension you get more travel as well as clearence. I don't think either way is safer or not safer. Body lifts tend to sqeek more than suspension lifts but then agian mine is sqeeking anyway.|

look at the yellow gap under the rear fender and the puck under the tail light. it`s a 3" BL.
do you see the red TC lowering kit near the sidestep?
it looks like the TC lowering thoing that comes with rancho suspensions.

Yeap, 1st has a maybe a 2" or so, plus a skyjacker lift of some kind.
2nd jeeps no bl and maybe a 3" coil lift, neither appear to have a SYE kit installed. but hard to tell.

Looks to me like the Yellow one is a body lift and a possible suspension combined (triied to zoom in on it but am not good at pic programs). Someone here may be able to zoom the pic and get a better look at the control arms (they look after market to me).
The white one looks like all suspension.

Body or suspension?
I'm looking at these 2 jeeps-can you tell by the photos what type of lift they are. I've been told it's safer to have a suspension lift for maintenance/repair reasons. Any help would be appreciated. TIA
