If you're going to knock the KM2s, knock them for their real demerits; they're primarily an offroad tire, mud-oriented at that. They're just not that good on the street compared to the competition.
Goodyear and Cooper are doing a better job of using technology to make better tires.

i have the bfg km series and they have been good so far. was considering going to the km2's based off the great reviews they are getting but two things are stopping me from doing that.
1) apparently they won't fit on a stock JK without modding it (which i'm not planning on doing right now)
2) they come with white writing on the side wall that will look tacky as hell on my black JK with gunmetal rims and tints

Toyos are heavy heavy tires. They are designed to be on 3/4 & 1 ton trucks. I have to air down to 10 psi to get them to squat, lol.

|EdJonesJeeper||I'm leaning heavy on the Kevlars for next go round. It will be at least a year though unless I sell my Dunlops M/t's I have now. I'm very anxtious on the report for these especially how quickly they wear on road. Goodyear and BFG's have always wore out quick in the past for me but my driving style has signifigantly changed since I got a lift.|

I am in too much of a hurry to read all of the posts....but I will tell you, from experience, that no matter what tire you choose to go with, millions will hate it and millions will like it.
I had Nitto Terra Grapplers on my last truck and hated them. I think they were terrible because I never put any weight in the bed. But, I wanted to give Nitto another try at keeping my business, so I went with the Trail Grapplers on my new Jeep. I have barely put 100 miles on them yet, so I really can't give you an honest opinion.
I am sure whatever you decide to go with will make you happy.

Look at Dunlop Radial Mud Rover Max Traction too; all off the same assembly line.
Goodyear is getting rid of the Fierce name brand and planning to make the Attitude an entry level GY product if they keep it. They're also canceling the Dunnie entirely ---- you can usually score smokin' deals on both of these tires right now as a result.
Both great tires. One with a silly name...
Often hard to find in a pinch.
Although their new mud tire seems pretty well made, the original Mud Grapplers have the most intense Xtreme Mall Crawler look ever conceived. Even worse than the Cepek poser tire and Thornbird.

Fierce Attitude M/T's are what I have. They aren't too noisy (I have a soft top and there was a little increase in volume from the stockers). I like they so far!

|Crasher||I had the MTRs w/k on my JKU for about 7000 miles and replaced them with KM2s. I'll take the km2s over the MTRs any day. Better traction offroad and they roll easier down the road. Increased mpg by 10% and I can feel the difference. fewer downshifts and it goes back into OD sooner. I don't know how they would be on icy slick roads, but don't care, as I will never be on them.|

|Work4Mud||BFG Mud Terrain KM2's. I have drivin them in just about everything and love them. Rocks, great. Mud, amazing. Snow, awesome. Pavement, somewhat quiet and not very rough.|

My jeep is pretty new and pretty stock still. My jeep club did a run on New Years, and I went along riding shotgun. I checked out all the rigs (and no two had the same set of tires), and how they performed on the trails. I should say I am buying tires very soon too.
Anyway, the rigs broke down into two groups. Those with all terrains, and those with more aggressive tires. For the normal trails, everyone had no problem. When it came to the somewhat crazy stuff, the all terrains worked harder. For the really crazy stuff, the all terrains struggled. Some of the rigs with the ATs did not try the really crazy stuff.
I was planning on ATs before I started the day, but after I ended up ordering a more aggressive tread. How crazy a trail you want to tackle is the place to start.

All tires are a compromise. Better off road vs worse on highway. Good mileage vs no traction. Good cornering vs soft sidewall flex.
And the problem with online reviews is that you never know which compromise was important to the reviewer. Someone who hates KM2s might not like the soft tread wearing out. Someone who loves them might live in Moab and hardly ever put their Jeep on pavement.
Personally, I don't know that I'd put up with some of the more aggressive tires on a daily driver. The noise alone can be rough.

The one thing that caused me not to go with the KM2 was the snow rating which was poor at best. They have a wonderful mud rating that puts them near the top While the MT/R Kevlars got a 1/2 star less rating in the mud then the KM2's did they got a star more rating in snow. And were I live, I have a nasty little north facing hill that when snow hits it it takes forever for it to melt and need at least a little snow traction for that uphill climb.
I think the couple comments above said it best. No one tire fits everyone best. You have to take in your conditions as to what you will be driving on and fit the best tire to your needs. Hopefully I made the right choice with the Goodyear MT/R Kevlar's because they are bought and paid for now. No going back at this point. Hopefully they will be here before the weekend.

|daedalus||Sorry if this is a dumb question, but the KM2s do not come in a size to fit a stock '10 Rubi, is that correct? So for those of you running the KM2s, do you have aftermarket wheels?|
