|97wrangler-242||Yea, the Dana 35 is a horrible axle. These are pictures from my first d35 I blew up running 3.07's with 31 doing mild trails and hills. I just blew up a second one and now i'm looking for a 97-02 non rubicon Dana 44. Or a ford 8.8 with brackets on it. I'm just sayin I wouldn't trust the Dana 35 for a second any more. Oh, and I think 456's and 488's r gonna b a little steep for 33's. You'd be doin 3k rpms at 65 lol you would b happy with 373's or 411 if u want the lower gearing|

|kdukes4||get a primary vehicle other than a jeep if you're worried about mileage with your jeep no ways around it. you can spend all that money on a CAI, TBS, headers, & CAT back, but you're talking mucho $$$$ which isn't cost effective for the minimal mileage increase you're going to get, the engine really wasn't made for modifications, it was made for reliability. 31's really isn't a big enough tire to consider regearing, which is also a pretty expensive modification. is your transmission a manual or auto? if an auto, you're not gonna wanna go over 4.11s, with a manual 4.56's or 4.88s... you're probably seeing minimal changes in your engines fuel economy riding on 31s, if anything you're probably getting better gas mileage. its a battle that you can try to fight, but unfortunately you're gonna lose no matter what really... GL!|

|05silver_sport||I have a 4" lift with 31s by 10.5 on a 15" rim as far as the gears go I wouldn't know I bought the jeep with those on it already but I do wanna go up to 33s what gears would I need on it for the 33s?|

|XJ Knight||big tire size plus stock gearing equals worse than normal gas millage.. What size tires do you have? and do you have the right gearing for that tire size? is something you have to ask yourself.. Most stock TJ's get 14-16 mpg|

Dont drive it...biggest gas saver on a jeep.
There isnt much you can do to get better mileage out of your jeep...just take it easy on the gas pedal.

I drive an 05 4.0l any suggestions how I can get better gas mileage on it because its terrible on gas as I've heard most jeeps are.
