Sorry to hear about your terrible experience... and I hear ya, I was looking at buying in Calgary where I bought my Patriot just to get away from dealerships on the coast until I found JP Chrysler in Surrey, definitely shouldn't have to be that way, especially when the consumer has to educate the sales person on the vehicle they're uhem 'not' trying to sell you

I'm not in BC but all I can say is trust no one, get everything in writing no matter how nice or honest they seem. I just had a terrible experience with the dealership in Cochrane.. recommended by a friend, was offerered invoice pricing, no admin fees and any applicable rebates. So i ordered over the phone and gave a 500 deposit and all was awesome until the day of pickup. My head is still reeling from that day. They told me a 499.00 safety and sec. package was mandatory.. i fell for it not knowing, they finally removed the other admin fees, they over charged on the accessories, and when i asked for the $2000 rebate it was a problem and then the sales manager came in and said they would split it with me or would walk away. (i'd waited 3 months for the jeep, and was tired and stupid from not sleeping the night before and regrettably went with it) I wish now I walked out even with losing the jeep which I love. Oh and they forgot my 130.00 locking gas cap and won't return my email.
Lovely jeep and it should have been a good day, all tainted by another dealership and their wicked games. I followed the 2013 thread.. I just wish there was someone honest we could deal with, like that Pat guy from the states.. I would have flown across provinces to do so.
I pray for the day I can order from the net and have it delivered to my door without a dealership being involved.

|JeepAA1ke||I don't remember the online site but we found a Gecko that was to be delivered to Jim Pattisons in Surrey , we called and went and got it after seeing and talking to 7 other dealerships over a 2 week period , they all sucked .This Jeep sold itself as soon as "We" found it.Jim Pattisons didn't have to do anything other than the normal paperwork , they threw in some coffee travel mugs which was nice and we paid $23,000 for a $29,000 sticker . We are happy.|

JeepinGirl Write to Chrysler. I work in the auto group that owns the second largest Dodge dealer in Canada. I can tell you right now Chrysler is listening very hard to consumers complaints about dealers. So call or write and complain, they will listen.
If anyone wants advice on how the dealers in Canada work when buying a new Chrysler product or Nissan product just ask. I will let you in on all of the secrets, they don't want you to know about.

So basically what happened was that I did my search online for exactly the color/ options I wanted.. A dealer called me telling me that they had the jeep I wanted, minus the leather and tow... but they would install both for me.
We agreed on a price.. about 2 grand more that the one I created online.. OK.. so there's a dealer markup.. whatever.. put it in my financing and be done with it.
A week later I have my jeep home with custom leather seats, mango stitching that matches the paint, and a hitch... First thing I notice.. um... where's my soft-top?...
Oh.. the salesman made a mistake.. mine didn't have it.
I argued it.. a dual top is what I PAID for.. so they gave me a top from an 08 trade in... hmmm... as I'm looking over my spec sheet, I see that yes.. they put a hitch on my jeep, but it didn't have the gear ratio that made towing even capable!!!!
MANY calls and dealer visits after this.. and ANOTHER 2 thousand later... they bring me in another jeep.. this one with tow.. they put leather in this one also.. undercoating, etc.. They switched all my accessories over and BENT the panel surrounding my gas door in this process... I pointed out that the 08 softtop is different than the 11 one..
So a month later, I have a '10 top with my '11 jeep.. and am still waiting for the leather guy to fix the install on one of my seats..
After all this BS.. it costs me MORE.. (they charged me for the transport of the 2nd jeep).. and NO compensation!!!
I'm furious still and plan on pursuing it further.

I personally hate all used car stealerships, they don't care about anything other than getting as much money out of you as possible. When I was looking for a jeep a few years ago the salesman brings me in to talk about money,
we start going over some figures, then with a big grin on his face he looks at me and says " we don't have anything on the lot that you were looking for but seeing how you qualify how about we put you in a VIPER". He was dead serious too, I got up and walked out the door. I'll take my chances with a used car any day over having to deal with a Stealership, thats unless I win the lottery then I'll have to deal with one to get my Austin Martin but I'd bet they'd bend over backwards for ya.

|JeepinGirl||I started this thread hoping someone has something to say... I know people don't usually comment unless it's bad.. and I had a FAR from positive experience.. I'd like to hear some glimmer of hope that there is something out there good having to do with a dealership..|

So far, I have been looking at Jeeps from about 2007 till now,
I went in test drove many, my feeling is if a person is wanting to buy a car off a dealer that dealer should bend over backwards to earn that persons business, throw in perks, drive the price down, too bad this doesn't seem to be the case in B.C. at all.
I sat down with dealers from all over B.C. Lower mainland, Vancouver, I think they were all vultures trying to take me for as much money as they could get me for. As a first time new car buyer, I found the whole process to be nothing but a pain from these dealers in B.C. I ran out of a few dealerships, I almost signed on an over priced 2010 rubicon that didn't have any options I wanted, and they tried every single tactic in the book to try and get to me go for it.
Then I just said screw it and bought a new 2011 with all the options I wanted, ya I will be paying for it forever, and in the end will pay more that the asking price was, but oh well, I will be rolling top down in sweet ass jeep, no thanks to the B.C. Dealers. oh and after going on line and configuring my own jeep and working out down payments, and trade in based on what they offered prior, and every time I went in with that print out the numbers never matched, its too bad you can't just order on line and not have to deal with dealers, I think they are simply vultures and don't care at all.
Oh I should have my jeep in a bout a month or so, and will be looking for other Jeepers to hit the outback with, so if you are cool and like to get out there, hit me up. or if you know others who are fun to head out with. cheers
