ajorosa 55000 miles, two springs on the clutch split in half rendering it almost useless. It most likely would of lasted another 55000 wear wise.

cubalz The clutch on mine went out at 130,000 miles.

530ktm Kind of depends on how it has been used. As Jerry says, they last a long time as mine is like new. What is the history of the clutch is the main factor here.

chrishunt The previous owner replaced my clutch at 70k.

That explains that!!

When I first got my Jeep, I thought it was sounding like the throwout bearing was going bad and was doing some pricing.

My brother does most of my work and the whole job might've cost me about $250 a couple years ago.

After having a couple people listen to my Jeep back then, they said the noise I was hearing was normal for a Jeep, which I have since figured out by reading other posts on here.

Now have 135,000+ miles on Jeep and still running great.

Tjwheeler101 They last a long time mine had about that before I decided to swap a v8 in and wheeled every day in the thing and never went out on me

Search And Destroy I just replaced mine at 135k. I'm pretty sure it was the original but I have no idea. My throwout bearing went out first so I figured I'd drive it untill it couldn't be driven anymore. I just hope this one lasts more than another 135k. I'm also gonna drive much more carefully now. Supposedly this new clutch is a little thicker and supposed to have more life.

Tjwheeler101 Omg 600 for a clutch what kind of clutch did u put in you can pick a new oem clutch for like 130

Jerry Bransford It is common for the OE factory clutch which is made by Luk to last well over 200K miles. My '97 TJ's clutch had been literally smoked many times while rock crawling so I did a precautionary swap at 161K miles in preparation for an extremely difficult trail (Sledgehammer in Johnson Valley). It turns out the old clutch was still fine and it still had plenty of life left on it. I have no doubt it could have made it to 200K miles if I had left it alone.

how long did your clutch last

I just spend 600 dollars on a new clutch and throwout bearings for my 97. How long did you clutch last untill you had to get a new one?
