When the Dual Top is ships to you from the factory the soft top is attached to the roll bars inside the Hard Top.

The book says as soon as you get your Jeep Home you should remove your hard top and disconnect the soft top for storage it warns you the top could become abnormally wear and damaged it if you keep it on with the hard top.

The Factory turns the soft top inside-out on the frame so it can fit. This is not easily done the second time around. It’s darn near impossible to recreate the factory packing.

It’s like trying to get the pots and pans back in the box they came in new, on Christmas after six Eggnoggs.

My advice if you want both tops get it that way, but If I were you I’d only drive with one or the other for prolonged periods.

sgettin i was hoping that is the case as it would be alot more versitile that way. i wonder if the new multi-peice hard top on the 2007 wrangler is able to be stored onboard. from the pics i've seen looks like maybe if you take the back seat out.

anyway thanks
scott

bluvikng I believe it all folds down behind the back seat like a convertible. You take the windows out so they don't crack when folded.

I have the hard top as well as a soft top for mine. The hard top has been sitting in the back yard for a couple of years now. The AC works just great in the Memphis summers (when the top is up) and the heat will burn you up in the winter. Get a soft top, there is nothing like that open top feeling and you can still keep the inside clean.

During the 2006 MY DC has seen fit to allow Dealers to also order a "Sun Rider Soft Top" as an opgrade to the newer Jeeps.

The Sunrider comes on all the LWB Unlimiteds with a Soft or Dual Tops. I guess DC thought it would make a cool option for SWB Jeeps too.

You can get 1/2 doors and a soft top.

Most come with Full dors.

It also comes in a Hard top only

Or you can get the Soft and Hard top with full doors.

intresting question on rubicon

I was wondering if the wrangler rubicon comes with soft top or soft door top. or is it just hard top hard doors and you have to buy the soft stuff. because I got to thinking I have never really seen a rubi with a soft top(but then again i have never really looked that hard).
