I did manage to over thread a bit which warped the plastic on the bottom of the mount, but nothing broke, so all is good Thanks AntennaX!
looks great on the TJ!!

I bought an amplified antenna and was thinking of setting it up inside dash and leaving the shorty antenna x for purely aesthetics because it looks dam good.

Any thought ideas on this
Best way and place to set up amplified deal?

Ed
I would say glovebox or top of dash in center

I think that is how it comes from the factory, unless the 3 mounting holes are off center

J Gand Has anyone compared the reception on the 13 inch and the 24 inch? I have the 13 inch, and have noticed reduced reception. I'm thinking about taking of the 13" and going with the 24".

Removing the stock antenna is 9mm.

Borknagar Got the Stubby and the 13 incher (I'll keep that in the Jeep for fast swap out if I ever need it) - Stubby seems to work great no complaints.

Samureye I got a 21" version of those from quadratec. Sorry I don't have a link. Its short enough that it doesn't hit the trees anymore but taller so I don't worry about the reception. Search it out.

for the mount, and not the antenna. just pop the plastic round cover off, then you will see 3 bolts holding the metal mount to the body of the jeep. I believe they are 10mm bolts, then you can get to the antenna cable that unplugs from the mount

It is a simple thread and nut. I had to use a small wrench in order to break the threads loose, but was then able to use my hands. The new antenna should be able to just screw in

DustyJK I've been sporting the AntennaX 13" Offroad for about 3 months with no issues. I like the beefier utility look of it.

SteedGun I just bought the 14" from Antenna X. I am tempted to also buy the 5" for just around town and put the 14 on when going out.

mayer906 i bought the 5 inch antenna from antennaX because i loved how it looked. Its not the greatest but it does the job. Most of the time I'm listening to my iPod anyway so I'm not that worried

J Gand I purchased a 13 inch Antenna X. I love the way it looks, but I have noticed a significant drop off in reception.
