TexasT Those look like TeraFlex fixed LCA's. I had them years ago and if I remember right...there is a little bit of room between the bushings and because the arm is a tube it allows the grease overflow to go into the metal tube which can take a bunch of grease. You don't have a thing to worry about and good news, the interior of the metal tube will not rust. The Teraflex bushings wear pretty quick so when you replace them you will find the grease. Keep what you have and drive it.

sdbryant You sir make great points. Ill take the zerks off and see whats going on inside the arms. As for overfilling the others, Ill just chalk that up to learning experience. Thanks for your help.

DevilDogDoc I didn't grease my lowers for like six months they started clunking so I did and the took about a half a little tube of grease before it came out the sides.

jeepjones Are you sure grease is getting in at all? Like you said the grease zirks might be plugged. Another thought is your gun maybe out of grease or the grease is actually filling up the tube of the control arm. All these reasons still does not add up to replacing the arms. First, check to make sure the grease gun isn't out of grease Second, remove the zirk and check if the grease is getting in at all, if you want to replace them go ahead just make sure the thread is the same. Third, unlike everything else you slightly overgreased its just about impossible to over grease the bushings (they won't burst). Fourth, stop worrying so much, you've got to start somewhere, if something breaks you will learn, albeit the hard way. If you don't know what your doing at all then don't do it until you do, coming here is a good start.

sdbryant Thats what I was doing and no grease was coming out the sides - even after like 20 pumps from the gun...dont know where all that grease is going.

DevilDogDoc Well if they aren't being noisy or giving you trouble leave em alone. If you want new ones then measure them and get ones that are the same measurement. And as far as the 90's go that's what I did on mine it works fine. The arms have no bladder to pop so pump them till it comes out the sides, like where the bolts are.

sdbryant Thanks, I would like to keep them but heres my issue with them:
When I grease them they take like 20 pumps from my grease gun and still no grease oozing out to indicate their full, so I dont know where all the grease is going and I hope I didnt overfill them. Also, I guess I can just replace the zerks with like some 90 degree zerks for the ones at the frame for easy filling?

jeepjones ^ x2, wrong meaning severly and obviously damaged, like I said, the bushings are replaceable.

jeepjones Why do you feel you need to replace the control arms? If they are getting loose it's probably the bushings and they're replaceable. Daystar & Energy Suspension both make good bushing kits. If you are still in doubt about what you have you should post some pics of the suspension that way we can help identify what you have.

Control Arms

I bought my 04 X with a lift already installed, cant tell how much but lets say 3" or so. My question is that if I have to replace my lower control arms how would I go about finding the right size. I think I want to stick with fixed arms due to the high cost of adjustable arms and the fact that I use my Jeep more on the pavement than the rocks. I cant find a model number on my arms now to simply match them up but they are obviously aftermarket, they have grease fittings. Can someone also point me in a good direction for manufacturers.
