Jeep question

I am looking to buy a Jeep Wrangler. I am also totally new to Jeep Wranglers. I found a 95 jeep Wrangler JP ( no Idea what Jp is)5 speed, 4 CYL, 155K, Interior in excellent condition, AM-FM CD Player, American racing wheels 31x10.5x15 Tires are in new condition. Im a little worried about a 4 cyl engine not having much power. Should I just go with the 6 cyl instead?? will I regret the 4 cyl. WHat are the good points of the 4 over the 6. My girlfriend drives a Jeep cherokee sport With the 6 and it does great. I wish I could find someone to trade me a Jeep for my 2000 Eclipse Gt

Welcome to the forum. I have a 1993 4cyl 5 sp. I sometimes wish I had the 6cyl while highway driving on hills and fully loaded. Otherwise, I'm perfectly happy with the 4cyl.

I also have a 4 cylinder and am happy with it for the city stuff I normally need it for. The six cylinder is also overpowered so if you're wanting a ton of power get an old cj with a v8. The six cylinder until 97 has a carb which can be temperamental but as long as you have patience they're really.good bulletproof engines. Find a good deal and buy it. You can't go wrong.

I too have a 4 cylinder. I also run 33's, and it does just fine. My top speed is about 60 if I go down hill I can hit 65..haha. Mine is in the shop getting 4.88 gears put in right now and from my understanding that will put me back at stock level when it comes to speed and mpg. Don't let the 4 angry squirrels scare u it's a lot better engine than it gets credit for. If it's a good deal jump on it. My 2 cents of course.

I eventually plan to swap in a v6 in my yj but I have to say I am impressed with the 2.5 ,it has surprised me at times.

Have you tried removing both battery cables and touching them together for a few seconds? That might work...

All 4cly YJ are fuel injected... the 6cly got it in 1991 as stated. The 4cly has around 120ish hp and 6 around 180hp.. Get the 6 you will much happier.
