Driver side, rear sway bar mount broken (rusted out)

My Jeep's (91 wrangler) driver side, rear sway bar mount is broken -- rusted out from the axle.

Any thoughts on what my options are to fix/upgrade is much appreciated

Thanks

Yep the cheapest and easiest fix/upgrade is to take the sway bar completely off and forget that it exist..

That's your track bar, and on a leaf sprung vehicle such as your yj it is completely useless. The best solution and upgrade is to remove it completely from the other side. You may notice the ride improve.

As others have stated the track bar is considered by many as the "appendix of the yj body". If its a problem just remove it. CJ's didn't have them. Leaf spring trucks don't have them.

If you want to retain it I'd get some 3/16" steel and fabricate a new mount and weld it to the axel tube.

The fix is a Sawzall!

Have you noticed a difference with it off ?

There doesn't seem to be any difference with the track bar off for normal driving. I don't do any off road driving at this point.

Onroad they won't make a difference, other than you MAYBE feeling a bit more body roll in quick turns. Offroad they make a HUGE HUGE difference.

Also, keep your swaybar on for road use, and get quick disconnects for offroad use :thumb:
