Need help with my 4 cylinder 97 wrangler

I recently bought a 4 cylinder 1997 jeep wrangler se.
On the way home i realized it was very slow at accelerating. 0-60 was almost 2 minutes and i topped out at just under 65 mph. About an hour down the road the front right brake caliper locked up. It is being repaired now but i was wondering if it was only going 65 because the caliper was sticking or that is just the top speed. Or if it was a problem someone else had and they tryed something and it increased the speed or acceleration of the vehicle.

The 4 cyl is slow, but not THAT slow. It helps if you keep the RPM's up, it seems to like 2500-3500 rpms.
Do a basic tune up; new plugs, wires, and dist cap and rotor. That should help some. And run some injector cleaner in the next tank of gas. I used a can of BG44 on my daughters jeep and it helped the top end a lot.

What size tires? The 97's 2.5 is no speed demon and if you had hills in there anywhere or any kind of slow grade going up, 65 sounds about right. :)

I put 4.88 gears in mine and run 33's and I can do 75-80 going down a hill. :) Otherwise it is about 70 top end. If I want to get somewhere quick, the Jeep stays home. :)
