project resorection
this is my friends tj im a good friends and helping him build the beast. here we go!

i got my jeep at the begging of last summer, a present from my two wonderful grandparents. the jeep is a 97 4.0 was stock then i rebuilt the tranny after blowing it up going through deep water for a auto. this is my first jeep and the only one i will ever need. towards the end of my senior school year, i left school to go buy parts, then head back to auto shop class to install them until a cop cut through the intersection. then i slamed into the rear end of a ford bronco.

my jeep was previously owned by some Hispanic guy. he had a gehto wiring system, poorly painted fender flair "i took them off", and a car alarm system with no remote. me being me i had to explore my jeeps capabilities, i was rock crawling in miami. don't ask where pls i know miami isn't full of rocks or mountains. also i put the jeep through a lot of mud. i blew up a heater core fixed by a shot gun sell i found out on the trail, its still there. also two weeks latter i blew up the radiator on the way to work, replaced it, three weeks later i crashed the bronco.

the mud hole in stuck in, is known as the forman hole in homestead fl. the place is also known as the hump.

blackhawk_TJ 07-23-2011 10:41 PM

that is the mud hole i blew up my heater core, and my first time going door less.
and fourth time having to get pulled out.

the worst part about the crash was that morning i had filled the jeep up top the top, and its still in there
i wasn't expecting to crash my jeep
after the cop was pulling to side as i smashed the bronco and sent him three car lengths he took off and stopped at the next red light instead of taking it. so he wasn't on duty, and i didn't get a ticket when another cop came because the previous cop called it in as it happened when he was turning. thank god my buddy and i were wearing seat belts other wise i would not be writing up this build thxs mom for the lesson of seat belts !!!!

Blackhawk_TJ tried to help me winch that out, it doesn't work like that, iv come to learn. so i stopped trying. but thank's to drift to death though, he found some guy up in jupiter fl with a 05 tj x. he was parting it out and i gave him a call. he was willing to work out a deal with me given the circumstances i had, i sold my banshee chassis i had, and an enclosed trailer my father had given me. got the money and the motor strapped on the trailer and headed up on a sunday evening around 7 we left, when we got there the jeep was still pretty much complete, and i got to work on the tear down, mind you i had finals the next day. but for a 05 chassis with a fabtech 6" lift, it was worth it. i also got poison oak that same night. then i strapped it down on the trailer and pulled it home in that vw.

my SYE (slip yoke elimination) came in the mail, and my budy chris in the pick. i pulled apart the front grill then drove the jeep with no radiator.

you can see the hole the fan put in my new radiator, 285 dollars out the window fml. it was only the second week in there.

blackhawk_TJ 07-23-2011 11:10 PM

starting to pull the front axle out. the blackhawk appears in this portion

blackhawk_TJ 07-23-2011 11:27 PM

giving her her feet back

blackhawk_TJ 07-23-2011 11:31 PM

bought two warn winch's with warn rollers. 8k for 450 i also go a warn front mount for the winch!!!

blackhawk_TJ 07-23-2011 11:45 PM

dropped the diff fluid, rebuilding the one on it with my gears. he snapped it in a swamp and destroyed the gears

and cleaned it up for my good clean gears

blackhawk_TJ 07-24-2011 12:03 AM

start of grinding the rear coil perches to relocate them for proper coil function.

if you look at the second photo below, you can tell i reversed the coil perch from the right side in order to place it with the triangular part towards the inside and get the shorted weld mount towards the tank. it gives me more room to work with to get the correct position for the bump stop and coil. also i cant afford the after market mounts, i'm a college student.

since we were short on jackstands and had only one cinderblock i had the smart idea of resting the front frame on the winch plate/rollers of my jeep tj . it worked we were able to remove the rear tires and set the rear diff. on old broken atv rims/tires worked for us wish i had more pictures of my tj it looked like my suspension just faild in the front end

blackhawk_TJ 07-24-2011 07:01 AM

so after we suspended and settled the rear end we removed the fuel tank loaded it up in the back seat for storage unfortunately it was topped off full!!!! because my best friend fueled up all the way not even 5 minutes before he wrecked. then we opened the rear diff almost died because of the foul diff fluid odor, removed the gears ring pinion and cradle, axles. note during the last mudding trip the breather hose was cut and we never noticed.

How are you addressing the rear shocks now that you moved the perches?

Good job so far bud. You'll be driving it in no time.

update of todays progress here are some pictures of the green rhino line
luk pulled the electrical and everything else out of the tub and its on the floor
we put the old jeep tup/frame on cinderblocks then, we finished cleaning up the gears, break assembley( rear ), axles, installed the d35 gears, axles, break assembly put the 30x9.5x15 rims and tires on so now we have a full rolling chaise. we removed the seats and doors and threw them in the new tub what a awkward color combination but when budget is tight anything works. its a trail rig what gives haha heres the pix enjoy
