Uwharrie

I am planning to go to UNF either the second weekend in October, probably camp Friday night and maybe sat night. Looking to see if anyone would like to get together then and convoy there and ride as a group.

ilmjumper 07-25-2011 07:00 PM

love to go! and can probably get a group together from here!

kfdjason7620 07-25-2011 07:11 PM

Ok where are you?? I can't see profile details on this Droid, and its supposed to say "either first or second weekend in October" . We went for our 10year anniversary last year and got hooked, but I aint going back while its hot and dusty!!

kfdjason7620 07-25-2011 08:08 PM

Nvm I checked it out, but hey we have horses too

ilmjumper 07-26-2011 12:44 AM

I'm in Wilmington :) The second weekend would work better for me, I'll be in TN the first weekend for a horse show! What kind of horses do ya'll have?

Djstorm100 07-26-2011 03:24 AM

A TN walker and couple of thoroughbreds and an Appaloosa. My father in law is an active horse trader, we also have tons of goats and the best yard alarms in the world, guineas!

kfdjason7620 07-26-2011 05:28 AM

But we'll plan for second weekend, last year it was the third weekend, very nice, but actually a hair chilly at night.

ilmjumper 07-26-2011 01:40 PM

lol crazy, I've got a TWH, two TBs, a paint, and mulitple guineas! Who are definitely the best alarm systems in the world :) you're up by Raleigh right? Is your father in law in Mt Olive by any chance? Rosshead?

Naw, we are in Princeton, his little establishment is "prarie d farm" and he is hooked up with another horse stable about a mile away named "j-mare farms". He used to be big into livestock transport.

kfdjason7620 08-02-2011 08:13 AM

Still 2.5 months but I am ready now!

ilmjumper 08-02-2011 10:08 PM

kfdjason7620 08-03-2011 10:55 AM

kfdjason7620 09-01-2011 05:16 PM

Djstorm100 09-06-2011 10:57 AM

kfdjason7620 09-06-2011 11:20 AM

We are looking to go Saturday, Oct 2 early and ride all day and camp sat night and ride a little and ease on home Sunday around lunch, but my bro in law was gonna come from VA and go and we were gonna take our 3 boys and one ride with him, but he backed out, so we gonna have to see if "gramma" can keep em, but I don't wanna just me and wife to go, granted there will be lots of people if we hit trouble, I wanna stay riding with friends, if y'all know what I mean

Djstorm100 09-07-2011 02:25 PM

oct 2nd? I'm down. I talked to a few friends today about it and they should be down. We might get a cabin and go friday like we did last time. Y'all are more than welcome to come down with us! Going to make this a FB event too!

Djstorm100 09-14-2011 04:28 PM

Igrok 09-14-2011 09:54 PM

I could possibly go on the 2nd - been there too many times to count. Are y'all wanting to camp in the campgrounds or on one of the trails?

Carolina__TJ 09-16-2011 03:58 AM

Crap!!! Id join but I need me some new tires! Well heck maybe next time. I'm right here in Aberdeen N.C not too far of a drive. Ill be getting me some new tires in March of next year so maybe sometime next year we all could head out that way. Y'all enjoy yourselves!

Djstorm100 09-16-2011 11:14 AM

Can y'all see the facebook invite?

ESP 09-16-2011 11:25 AM

I'd like to go back. I went once before when I first got my jeep but I would like to go down, park and then ride out on a few trails with others to get more knowledgeable about them. Any one gonna do Daniel?

jeepgirl2006 09-16-2011 12:08 PM

I know that this is probably a dumb question, but I'm not entirely sure of what y'all are talking about. Are you going to Uwharrie National Forest for a 4x4 event of some kind? Or is it just a trip for fun? I'm new to this. :-)

It is an event in the planning phase. Uwharrie National Forest has some of the best ORV trails in NC. Youtube "uwharrie" and check out the many videos there about it. It is about 2hrs from Raleigh NC. The forest is located in Troy NC.

jeepgirl2006 09-16-2011 01:20 PM

Is there anything for stock jeeps or does it require a lift and bigger tires?
If a stock Jeep can have fun out there, too, then count me in!! I live in Fayetteville.

And I can't see the FB invite, has it been deleted?

ESP 09-16-2011 01:39 PM

There are many trails at Uwharrie ranging from beginner to advanced. Some of the beginner trails are Wolfs Den and Falls Dam. Others like Daniel you should stay away from. Your stock jeep is very capable but you should observe and take your time getting experience. You'll have more fun that way too. :thumb:

jeepgirl2006 09-16-2011 01:53 PM

I'm not new to off roading by any means, but I have always had more aggressive tires and better clearance. I'm not gonna observe! I wanna get dirty! :-)

Is it ok if I tag along when y'all go? It's much more fun riding with other people.
