Stay away from the rocks and tread lightly on the skinny pedal. Most will tell you its a crap shoot, me included, but you should be ok with the 33's.

I wheel the shit out of mine with 33's....

Lately I've been trying to blow up my 35 because i have a 44 on the side ready to go in. It has been through hell in the past two weeks, burnout, dumping the clutch, "chirping" the wheels going into 2nd:eek: and sometimes 3rd:doh: , etc.... so far it's holding up without a problem....:D

so basically the word is i can do it. but it depends on the driving i do and how hard i wheel.

yeah basiclly, I have a buddy whos had to rebuilt his 35 four times since december (he wont go to a 44), but he drives the same way I am now trying to blow mine up, but he does that everyday, he's also on 33"s......

I'd throw 33"s under and drive on it easy, but still wheel it, just dont wheel it carelessly

well i got the 4 banger now so there really is no "driving hard" i guess if i get 33 i just save and have 44 ready to swap in then when i decide to go 35 ill already be there?

That's a good plan to work towards. You will take stress off and make your 35 last longer if you keep it open and don't put a locker in it.

Triple88a 08-14-2007 05:13 PM

i'm confused why does he have disks and also drums? lol would need new gears along with it and a rebuild...

HkdOnJP 08-14-2007 05:16 PM

Front = disk
Rear = Drums

I have been told to baby mine for about the past 7 mos because there is slop in the rear gears. I have taken my Jeep airborne and constantly play in the mud. Usually wheel EVERY weekend. Most of the ones I see break on the trail are going airborne or are climbing over downed trees at an arkward angle (snap). Mine is just worn out at 200,000 miles

Exactly what i got sitting to my YJ right now, a 1985 grand waggy :D Picked the whole vehicle up for $300, only 85K on it, but the frame is rotted in the rear (damn CT, with all the salt on the road)..... ontop of it have 44's, It also has a amc 360 5.9L motor, which might make its way into the yj also;)

Those would be perfect. There will still be a lot of work involved. They will need at least need the brakes gone through and really the whole thing should be taken apart and rebuilt to start. Then you will need to weld on the spring perches and shock mounts.

lot of work sounds like fun I ordered 32 11.50 and im just gonna save up a bunch of cash and by dana 44's and locker and build a really good axle and then il have them when i go bigger in lift and tires
