Interior lights draining the battery

I replaced new stereo and speakers for my 98 TJ this weekend and while doing that, I have introduced a problem. The overhead light on the sound bar and the lights below the dash on the driver and passenger side are on now. They never worked for the last 6 years and looks like i must have activated them some how. They are on now and draining the battery. I could not find any switches to turn them off.
I am a complete novice when it comes to jeep repair. I am guessing it's a simple issue, it's just that I am clueless :banghead:. Please help me...

Thanks!

Do you have your dimmer switch turned all the way up passed the click? That is what turns them on.If you move it back just past the click they should only come on when doors are open. My dimmer switch is on my turn signal it is a notch that sticks up a bit from the handle. not sure if it is the same on the 98.

I just tried shifting the dimmer switch all the way up and down. It did not do anything.

How did you do the install, was it a plug-n-play? Did it come w/a wire harness so all you needed to wire was the yellow/orange wires for the acc/ constant power? If not where did you tap into to get your pwr. Source?

I was driving back from work and I was playing around with the headlight switch(turned all the way to the left and it clicks) and that did the trick.
Thanks for your suggestion and that's what made me try diff things.

I think my friend's kid who was playing in the jeep might have turned it on accidentally which happened to be a blessing, now i know how to turn on the interior lights. I had this jeep for 6 years never knew how to turn on the interior lights, now i know :)
