$299.99 is the delivered price on this winch currently. Most places will charge an additional $30 for shipping. Prior to this sale we had the winches at $332.95 delivered. These have been a very popular winch for us. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I am not familiar with the Engo Winch but I can tell you that the Rugged Ridge Winch comes with with a three year warranty. We have used this winch on several of our vehicles and they perform extremely well. All of the replacement parts are readily available.

Why are the Rugged Ridge winches so much cheaper than the WARN. Is there are huge quailty difference or is just the name?

Warn winches are very high quality winch made in the USA. If you are going to use this winch for competition or in extreme situations, The Warn Winch will perform exceptionally well for you. We sell a lot of the Rugged Ridge Winches and we have not had any issues at all on these. I have an 8500 lb. Rugged Ridge Winch on my 1998 TJ Wrangler that we have been using successfully for three years now. It has gotten me out of a lot of tight spots. These winches are imported from off shore. They do come with a three year warranty. I am sure that you would be very happy with either of these winches.

OK....so I live in South Florida. So a winch on the front of my Jeep is going to get rained on A LOT and may also get some sea water on it from time to time. The new Warn winches I looked at, the 9.5ti and 9.5 cti (which I can't really figure out the difference between anyway), seem to be sealed better than the less expensive Warn and Rugged Ridge styles. Do the lesser priced winches rust easier or degrade faster??

I would rather by one winch for 1,000 that will last 10years than replace a 300 dollar one every 2-3 years.

Thanks again.

Will

I live in florida aswell with a smittybilt winch. It has held up very well for $300 (3 years old) never had any problems with it. As for rust the only thing that even close is the roller failead which is a cheap replacement btw. Winches should not rust I have never seen a winch rust at all. I will have pics for you if you like later on?

We live in northern Indiana where we get, rain, snow and heavily salted roads throughout the winter months. It is not hell but you can see it from where we are located. I have an 8500 Lb. Rugged Rdge Winch on the front of my vehicle that sets outside most of the time. This winch has performed flawlessly for over three years now. I do use Permatex Dielectric grease on all of the electrical connectors and terminals to prevent any high resistance connections.

The 9.5 Series Warn Winch is designed for the serious offroader and will give you many years of operation. This unit comes with an aluminum housing that listed as water resistant.

Two more questions. Is there a wieght difference between the warns and RRs?

Possibly my last question - I think the answer is yes - Can you mount the RR to the stock Rubicon bumper?

The Rugged Ridge Winch 8500 lb winch with steel cable weighs 85lbs.

The Warn 9.5ti Winch with steel cable weighs 89lbs.

I do not have any winch mounting plates available for the stock JK Bumpers. We do sell the OR Fab, Rugged Ridge and Warn bumpers if you are interested in any particular one, I will gladly provide you with a quote. I will need a postal code for shipping.

You can always bag your winch. I have on of those neoprene covers for mine (about $25 off eBay) and it fits snugs and keeps it out of the salt and rain. I checked the winch after a hard rain here in Florida a few weeks ago and it was bone dry under the cover.
