Attica trip october 8

hey all, just wondering if any of you were intrested in joining me and some fellow Iron Horse club members on a trip to Attica, gonna be there october 8th and 9th(camping)....let me know! the more the merrier

we should be leaving on the 7th to camp there the first night so we can get a full day of wheeling in on saturday, leaving from my house in saint john but we can meet any one else willing to go with somewhere down 41, couple of gas stations north and south of where I live with big enough parking lots.

thats cool, like i said the more the merrier, i had to wait till about a month in advance to be sure enough were really going, so far me and the same guy that went last year when we went....this was prior to me owning a jeep, but my 89 stock bronco had lots of fun out there still...so it should be a blast this year with the same 31's under my jeep.

just wanted to ask anyone else if they're intrested, figure 2 months advance is enough time to get ready...i hope it is for me, about to build my longer leaf spring shackles to clear my 31's better, and build my own rear bumper with D-ring tabs/get tow hooks installed on the front.

Where at in Saint John are you at? I live in Cedar Lake and grew up in Saint John. Its possible I would be interested in going depending on my work schedule.

bout half a mile east of 41 down either 93rd or joliet street, subdivision is between those 2 roads...

and its a for sure thing for me and another club member, so far my 93 wrangler and his 95 cherokee...both on 33's i just have to do a shackle lift so i'm more comfortable, otherwise my rig is ready to go. can't wait

just put the 33's on today(love how 33's aren't truely 33" tall, more like 31"...lol)and dayum they have some meat, paid 200 for all 4 already on jeep rims

yup, I've got 2 weeks to install my lift, its in my garage waiting....just need to clean up the garage so i can get to work

I'd love to go but a local jeep show is that day.

You guys should have a good time but be aware that that is the day of the last TREC race/KOH qualifer of the year so some trails/areas may be shut down. Should see some awesome rigs though.

JeepinDave 09-24-2011 10:21 AM

I might be interested. I'm from ohio. Pretty close to the OH/IN border. Findlay Ohio to be exact. I've wanted to go to Attica for awhile now. Do they have areas that you can pick and choose from? Mild to extreme? My tj is my DD and I'd hate to break something and have class on monday. Here's my rig. 33's on 3" zone

matthewhashman 09-24-2011 11:03 AM

i figured it woudln't, it wasn't last year when we went, and they had i believe the same event.

matthewhashman 09-25-2011 01:50 PM

yeah im stoked. i have not been to badlands in a long time. and this time i can actually drive my truck there and not worry about a hauling my rig up there.

aharper 09-26-2011 01:31 PM

ooh, I may be interested in this. What time are you looking to go? I may just drive out in the morning. My JK is a DD as well so I won't do anything too aggressive but I'd like to get out on some trails and have some fun.

Other than DuraTrac tires I'm stock, too, so hopefully I can hang in something. ?? !!

Vonsidhe 09-30-2011 08:56 AM

I might be down to go that weekend, Im also going on the 22/23rd. It is $20 for the entire day, I think its only $30 for 2 day pass. not sure how much camping is, dont think its much because the camp ground SUCKS!!! No joke its a grass parking lot...

ed-de 09-30-2011 12:34 PM

It's stil kinda ify for me but just in cace this is my rig and yea camping is more like a tailgate party http://www.wranglerforum.com/attachm..._3041483_n.jpg

Mike5087 10-03-2011 12:08 AM

This still a go? I may have a buddy making a trip from Chicago to Indy this weekend (I'm working in the speedway area) and if this is going to happen I may partake.. Bears hoody and all! ha ha that is if you hoooosiers don't mind a couple of city slickers from Chicago taggin' along haha! Never been to the badlands, or any "serious" wheelin' so I'd like to get my feet wet a little bit and hit the light stuff.. nothing too crazy! gotta make it back to work on Monday

draarong2004 10-03-2011 04:51 AM

yess! it is still a go, i just finished my 4" rough country lift at 10pm lastnight....lol, cannot wait to test it out, my drive angles look good and it shifts into all gears decently.

aharper 10-03-2011 08:24 AM

I'm out. I have to be back in Indy by around 5:00 that night and don't know if it's worth the drive up for only part of a day's worth of trailing. This is the same site that is holding the Tough Mudder race in November so I know I'll be back then. :)

matthewhashman 10-03-2011 03:27 PM

i dont have the funds to go this weekend but i want to go this month.

matthewhashman 10-08-2011 09:21 AM

draarong2004 10-09-2011 08:02 PM

was a fun trip, sorry we didn't meet up in the quarry...wanted to see what your jeep was capable of, nice looking jeep you have there, i blew the thermostat seal when i was back behind the quarry on what i think was a level 5+ trail...lol i almost made it through till that happened.....these jeeps are nearly unstoppable, i just need a new thermo seal, prolly a new sensor too, it wasn't showing the engine getting all that hot....
