Bestop trail cover question

Looking at getting one of these and was wondering does the softop have to be completely out of the vehicle or does it work with the top in it's folded position in rear? Have a 2011 jku

Thx

It works just fine with the top folded down.

The trail cover wording is confusing. When I went to get one for my TJ the ad stated cover will not fit with top on. Does that mean with the top still attached and down or do they mean with the top up. Was not a member of any forums then for advice. The ad meant with the top on as in top up.

Does it work with the doors on and off?

Yes.

Ideally, the cover fits best with doors off and top completely off.

I never bother to take my top completely off so it's a little tight over the truck area, and when my doors aren't off it runs into the side mirrors. But it does indeed fit.

What if the soft top is down and only one door is on? Will it fit then?

^^Only if you remove the wheel on the opposite side. :D

daggo66 08-25-2011 10:56 AM

Thank you. I'm going to do that now, wait, front or back wheel?

MTH 08-25-2011 11:03 AM

Doesn't matter for a 2 door. For the 4 doors though, it's got to be the opposite wheel diagnoal from the removed door. It gets confusing . . . might just want to remove them all--just to be safe.

Good idea! Be right back.

^^Wait! Before you go I wanted to mention one more tip--don't use any jack stands. Just set the Jeep right on the ground with no wheels. It's much easier to get the trail cover on that way. Good luck and please--please--take pics. :thumb:

:D

Got it, thanks!
