Help with IDing this hose and where it connects to

Anyone know what this hose is for and where does it connect to? It appears to go up near the rear brake line area in front of the rear axle. I do not see any line with no hose on them though.

Looks like a diff vent

It looks like the vent hose for either the axle or possibly the gas tank. Are you able to see where the the hose goes in the other direction? It appears to have a "vent" cap on the end.

Looks like the rear differential vent hose. the other end should be on the top of the left axle tube about 6-8" from the housing. They(Jeep)hung the other end up there to keep water out of the rearend.

It is currently as connected as it needs to be, that is the diff vent, so if you connect it to something, you're screwed.

Thanks, I will look at the axle to see if the other end has a home there.
