Help me diagnose my turn signal/electrical problem?

I've searched through several threads, but never seen this exact issue. I might have a combination of things to fix, but here's the rundown:

- With left turn signal on, front and side markers flash correctly but BOTH left and right flash in the back (like hazard lights)

- If the brake is applied, there is no blinking whatsoever and the left arrow is constantly illuminated on the instrument panel. This is intermittent though, as sometimes the brake can be held and the flashing seems normal (although it is still both flashing in the back as described).

- If I barely pull down on the turn signal lever/switch (not to the point of engaging the turn signal), the front turn signal is illuminated (constantly, no flashing) and stays there until I push up on the switch.

- The right signal works just fine without issue.

So what do the electrical veterans say? Fuses? Switch? Both? I haven't had time to investigate much yet, but I thought maybe someone had gone through the same thing before and could give me a hint at where to start based on the symptoms. Thanks guys.

Couple of things, first check the bulb on the left rear lamp, it's a double filament, if the tail lamp portion broke it could be laying on the brake lamp portion, and cross feeding to the right lamp, when the turn signal is on.
The lamps occasionally not working when the brake is applied could be a poor ground.
Also check to see if maybe you have a bad flasher.

Lastly I'd say if all else is good, you have a bad turn signal switch.

To the OP, did you ever get this straightened out? It sounds similar to the problem I am experiencing.

I have a wild amount of electrical and signal/brake issues that I need to correct STAT as I have been pulled over twice in the past week and ticketed once

Could be bad grounds. Do you have brush guards on the taillights.

I have the same problem excluding both of the rear signals lighting up. The left blinker stays on unless I turn it on while the steering wheel is turning back into the straight position, or if I mess with the lever. My cousin had very similar problems with his left blinker on a chevy lumina, and he had to replace the turn signal switch. I'm pretty positive that this is the same situation, but they're a pain to replace because you have to take the entire steering column out. Nothing too bad though, just make sure you set an entire day aside to do it
