ok, i have a 1990 yj thats pretty much stock.. getting some 33s, and and a 4 inch rc lift and possibly some sway bar disconnects within a few weeks now.. Now, im not nearly as knowledgable as anybody on here, and i dont know much about vehicles in general.. but i was wondering how to achieve some decent flex on my wrangler.. Will the 4inch rc lift and the quick disconnects give me some decent flex? what else should i do to gain flex? suggestions, pictures, links to read.. anything would be helpful.. Thank you! :punk:

Take the front and rear trac bars off. Honestly I wouldn't waste the money on quick discos I'd just take the sway bar off completely and put the money toward something else.

x 2 on the trac bar and sway bar. With your leaf springs they will do nothing but limit flex.

i third that opinion. trash the sway bar and track bars.

Also u could keep the stock springs and do an SOA there are tons of write ups on how to do it.

To add value to what they are saying you will not need those items because that is what the leaf springs are really doing. They are not going to let the axle move because each leaf is held in place on the frame to two spots and then once to the axle. You might notice a little more body roll but nothing unsafe.

Just be careful as that will cause axle wrap. It nets around 4 in or 5in, can't remember.

I bought/installed sway bar disco when i was building my YJ what a waste of money.

I'd skip on the SUA lift, unless you're dead set on one.

The higher you try to go with a SUA lift, the stiffer the springs are and less articulation/flex the suspension will have.

Alright thanks guys, this really helped a lot. If i remove the trac and sway bars, will it be unsafe to drive on the road? because this is my dd also :D

As long as you keep in mind "you're driving a Jeep". you should be OK, just no high speed cornering. If you decide to do a SOA, use the stock springs. It's your DD and SOA w/stock springs will net you 5" to 5.5" of lift. Any higher and they're no fun to drive on-road.:thumb:

I drive mine 15 miles each way to work every day with no bars of any kind. It has a little different feel to it but never anything I felt was unsafe. Drive smart and your YJ will take care of you.

I can run my yj 4" lift w/33's on the highway with no sway no trac bars.. rides fine for a lifted jeep, 65-70mph no problems when I hit a bump, and these would be bumps that would have sent my TJ into death wobble.
