Any Trails in the R.G.V?

Whats up guys? I was wanting to ask if anyone here knows of any trails or all around good spots to go wheelin' down in Deep South Texas? I'm about 2.5 hours south of Corpus and about 25 miles NW of South Padre Island. Thanks.

I go down the the Valley from time to time. My grandparents live there and my GF still has her family there. We were there last weekend and will probably be there the next two weekends. Unfortunately I don't drive my Jeep down there. I did a couple of times but it wasn't a pleasant drive.

I hear ya. I couldn't see myself making that drive either. I know most people here in the Valley like taking their Jeeps out to the Island and driving up till they hit the "Break" up around Port Mansfield. I was hoping to find something a little more challenging to test both my Jeep and my driving skills out a bit more.

I drove down to Mexico close to Monterrey in the mountains and had a blast going thru some of those trails... but that was years ago.

Yea. I few of my cousins have been out there as well. I hear its awesome. Too bad things have got so out of hand with the cartels down south. :hide:

Go to south Dixie land road in Harlingen go all the way down till you get to the bridge then turn off the road and go down under then bridge it's not amazing but it's some fun

Thanks man. Found that spot a couple weeks ago. It was pretty fun. Wish that spot was a little longer but it's not a bad place to have some fun. Drove by there yesterday and it looks pretty nasty with all the rain that we've been getting.

Bad news they fenced off that trail!

we ride the railroad tracks off palm, down by the old amigoland mall in browntown. its not horrible interesting but you get ot go up and down some trails and drive on a fair incline.

Mr.Ouija 02-22-2012 09:48 PM

Yea. Your right. I'm here right now. No way to get in. It's fenced all the way down to the river. Man this sucks.

Does anyone know about the Laguna Atascosa Wildlife Refuge? A buddy of mine tells me that he remembers a time he was out there with his family and saw a sign that read "only 4wheel drive vehicles beyond this point". He said it looked like pretty rough terrain.

busemans 03-02-2012 06:11 PM

i don;t even know where that is.
