dual exhaust mod?
anyone ever run a dual exhaust on their jeep? any kits you know of, or just all custom work?

i dont know of any, i think it would have to be custom, remember its not like a v6 the exhuast is all on one side, so it really wont improve performance much, just too look cool, if i were you i wouold buy a cat back kit that is 3" and a really good muffler adn then buy a exhuast tip, get the sound and performance and the look without all the wasted money

no known kits here either. It's an Inline 6/4 so it woudlnt make any difference in power compared to a single tail pipe as Darek said. It would look cool but would be easier to smash since it runs to the other side of the rig.

Once i saw a truck that had 2 tips but only 1 of them smoked (winter) so if you want it just for looks.. there is a option for you. :D

Dual exhuast on a V8 shows no differance in power gains, so a 6 cylinder with duals is a waste of money.

now thats one good looking setup :D dual headers for wranglers :D I wonder if any one makes longer piping that goes down all the way to the catalystic converter :D

That, I am sure, you would have to build yourself. My guess is if you are going to run that setup, the cat would not mean much to you..........

Well a high flow cat.. but i mean every setup i've seen only either replaces the headers or the piping after the muffler. I've never seen anything that replaces the piping that is from the headers to the cat. I want longer piping for the headers instead of the original 7-8" header pipings that welds into 1 big pipe so thats 6 pipes into 1 instead of the 6-2-1 stock setup. I know that wont fit because the stock piping that goes from the stock headers to the cat is not a great design.. (thats why headers crack on I6s) let me sketch a pic..

Something like that.

6 - 1 setup or a long 6 - 2 - 1 setups are best as far as hp gain and reliability goes.

6 - 1 setup

6 - 2 - 1 headers (notice how much longer the piping is vs the wranglers headers?)

stock length 4.0L tj headers..

(lucky yj guys have those.. and those are the things we need for tjs.'.jpg)

I've got dual 2 1/4s on my 04 I-6. If there is any diff at all, it would be above 3500 RPM, very little though. I have the split factory manifold, with a cat on each side right off the manifold. Then through a pair of Turbo Tubes, then through a Flowmaster, dual in, dual out. With just the Flowmaster, it sounded like a V8 at idle, but nasty sounding under load. With Walkers, it sounded like a older Datsun pick up with a miss. With the dual in dual out Magna Flow I ran for the first week, it sounded like a Honda, gone bad. Now it sound real close to stock, maybe a little deeper pitch, but still quiet. If you go dual, you will not like it loud. I'll put it on the lift and post some pics when I get a new camera. Kids took mine to school, and it didn't make it.

i can go to the college and draw it there but the problem is i cant make it since i don't have the hardware such as a welder or a big cut off tool... :( As soon as we buy a house i would start playing around w/ stuff :) and as for now.. no place to store big tools :(
