howdy i'm wanting to put a 6.2 or 6.5 diesel in a wangler an was wondering if any had anyone had any advice, ideas, or where to find any info on this. thanks have a nice day:dance:

money works wonders. look into the 2.8 diesel. came in foreign wranglers and may be a cheaper route. chech out youtube.

4bt thats what a frind wants me to do, id like to have a v8 & duel side pipes question is will 4bt cost less then a 6.2 or 6.5

any of the bigger diesels would be badass in a jeep but would weigh way to much in my opinion for a casual or hardcore offroader

i helped do a 6.5 turbo diesel swap in a scout years back, big issue was transmission.. 4L80E and all the computer to go with it. the atlas was pricey but was easy to install. theen we beefed up the dana 44s full floater chomo stuff from warn. then kaboom we sheared the pinion gear in half and twisted the splines on the axle shafts...... and we hadnt even really wheeled it hard yet...... thousands of dollars later dana 60/14bolt combo some bio diesel and we had a winner.

The 6.2 is just a bit lighter than a 4bt, the 6.5 is about the same weight as a 4bt, the 6.2 was naturally aspirated and the 6.5 was both natural as well as turbocharged. The 6.5t made a bit more horsepower than the naturally aspirated versions. As far as dual side pipes, well with a turbo charged engine you only have one exhaust outlet regardless if it is a "V" block or an inline block design. But a diesel swap will eventually led to much more than just a engine swap. The entire drivetrain will most likely need to be upgraded eventually. I have a 4bt TJ and I have broken several parts in my built front D60 including the Detroit locker.
