Just got done in the black hills

Had a lot fun out here. Especially one trail that took us from bolder canyon up and around deadwood to hwy 35 I think. Got to the top and there was an awesome view. Great climb. My first big challenge in the jeep too.

Django Unleashed 09-06-2011 06:48 AM

I haven't been to the Black Hills since I was a kid. I remember it was awesome though! Any pix?

Are those camp 5 trails?!
A group of us met up this year, about 15 jeeps and we are making it an annual event!!

shrekfx 09-15-2011 04:53 PM

The one with the rut was just south of camp 5 train off bolder canyon rd ya. The other ones weren't. When do you go out. Might have to come with
a will a semi stock be able to handle it?

snopro269 09-15-2011 11:34 PM

Majority of the trails we do are scenic and there are optional harder trails to try or you can bypass. My friends 2005 TJ Rubicon with 32's did great!!
We have great local people that bring us out!!
We went at the end of July this year. We haven't set up yet for next year yet. Probally this winter we will.

shrekfx 09-16-2011 08:48 AM

Ok cool. Im hoping to get some 33in on the Jeep as long as the wife let's me. But not sure how long that will be.

HuskerNation 09-16-2011 11:00 AM

I'm from Sioux Falls and have been looking for somewhere to go in South Dakota. Other than the black hills have you guys found a place for a beginner? I have a stock 07 sahara.

shrekfx 09-16-2011 12:34 PM

Not really im a beginner to and my jeep is mostly stock except I have 31in muds. I hear in Iowa about 2 hours away there is a place but not sure.

snopro269 09-17-2011 05:24 AM

This is the standard. Although there are modifications that can be made to allow for bigger rubber. You are correct though with 4" and 33s being the norm/standard.

Actually all he did when he had stock front bumper was take off the outter ends for turning radius.

Here's him rock crawling out in Deadwood!!

32.8 tall and 11.4 wide tire on stock Rubicon Rims with spacers.
Little shorter and Narrower than his 33's on DC2's 33x12.5x16
